Progressive Libertarian Party may sound less threatening than Libertarian Socialist Party. Plus that allows the party to claim roots back to Teddy Roosevelt.
1) End Corporate Person-Hood and Corpoate Lobbying 2) Dismantle All Monopolies and Too Big to Fail/Jail Entities 3) Nationalize The Federal Reserve 4) Institute Single Payer National Healthcare 5) Institute Single Payer Higher Education and Job Training 6) Institute A Living Wage Tied To Inflation 7) Implement An Across the Board Audit and Cuts of All Federal Spending Subject to Cost Benefit Analysis(don't tell me there is not any fat in the military or social services budget) 8) Repeal of the Civil Liberty Violating Legislation Since 9-11 9) Implementation of Direct Democratic Practices on the Federal Level 10) Reclaim the Public Commons and Institutions(end and reverse privatization) 11) Legalize Marijuana and Reform Drug Laws 12) Develop an Infrastructure Both Physical and Digital to Meet the Needs of the 21st Century Economy 13) Investigate, Indict, and Convict For War Crimes and Financial Fraud (2001-2013) and Close All Tax Loopholes/Raise Taxes 14) Endorse a Green Open Source Collaborative Economy 15) Reject Free Trade In Favor Of Fair Trade
I am still formulating this thing but these are the 15 platform positions I believe a Progressive Libertarian party should stand for.
Good list. How about assuring the integrity of our money. control inflation, raise interest rates so that retired people who depend on interest from their savings get fair returns, and to assure the viability of retirement plans.
I'd say invoke a progressive tax structure in which one's commitment to pay is proportional with one's ability to contribute.
I am for all those things.
