Welp - here is to the coming loss of massive amounts of shoreline and island communities - YOU F'n Fossil Fuel INSANE ASSHOLES

Let us see how long it takes now - to relocate away from the shore as well as away from ocean emptying river valleys.

STILL - Major horrors are on the way for those that will have solid ground underfoot without having to relocate from the unstoppable rising waters. We have only seen the beginning of the hell coming from the changing ( heating ) climate.

The sooner fossil fuel is ended - the better - as we will have hell to pay for what is already coming but the sooner the pollution stops - the lesser the hell will be for future life to survive.

EDIT -> How much greater are the ( "inland" ) Great Lakes gonna Be? How brackish/salty?

Sorry it took a while to get to you - I was dealing with a fkn lunatic b4 !!! However, I really recommend the great ''Climate Of Doubt'' 'PBS Frontline' Documentary AND the numerous links on this thread :

The excellent documentary and the other links there will give a real insight into the ''F'n Fossil Fuel INSANE ASSHOLES'' that you allude to I believe. Never lose your militant wrath DKAt !! Solidarity !

I've seen climate of doubt - and - Everyone Should.

"Militant Wrath" ?

I prefer Sane Individual's Anger! And every sane individual SHOULD be Angry!

[-] 2 points by shadz66 (19985) 10 years ago

I agree with ''Everyone Should'' DKAt and therefore, I append :

I still prefer ''militant wrath'' but I'll take ''Sane .. Anger''. It's just 'insane anger' that gets my goat, lol ;-)

The insanity "must" END. Getting sane and active with a healthy clean world wide energy program - would do much "for" the benefit of the Mental Health of the masses.

"The Cleantech Revolution" is really worth a watch :

"The Cleantech Revolution"

Another that everyone should see!

Hopeful? - HELL YES - as - there "ARE" real alternatives to fossil fuel pollution.

[-] 4 points by shadz66 (19985) 10 years ago

I agree re. ''hope'' and tho' reality bites, it still has to be faced, so that right actions may then occur :

Do NOT read this right now IF you're feeling tender at all tho' DKAT but do try to spread it about later.

[-] 7 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Feeling tender? Do you mean feeling beaten bone deep black and blue by the myriad abuses of the corp(se)oRATions and their lackeys?

[-] 4 points by shadz66 (19985) 10 years ago

Re. Dahr Jamail's excellent article, given the deeply troubling nature - it was more of a reference to the personal but your more expansive context rightly hits the mark. Sorry if I was patronising at all but that highly referenced piece had a bit of an effect on me when I read it. Further to that very insightful article, and in compliment to your developing thread - I append the following item by Thom Hartmann :

Their BS propaganda - now airing in heavy doses all across the USA - to try to get the public to call for approval of KXL - is one of the worst blatant lies ever placed on TV ( or put out to the public in any form ). I would so love to see it blow-up in their faces and be a complete waste of money having been spent by them.

Don't forget fracking.

http://www.propublica.org/article/in-fracking-hotbed-a-muted-approach-to-regulation

I posted on another "drill mud" spill in the Ohio.....it was ignored.

Somewhere today I saw an article on how fracking is releasing a lot more methane than they are admitting to. If I find it again, I'll post it.

And then, keep in mind, that combined, they average 20 spills a day.

Fracking! A boon to the insurance corporations.

http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2014/05/13/3437368/texas-debates-frackquakes/

At least until the big one hits. Then it'll be an act of God.

[-] 6 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

Hmmmm - I would think rather than a boon - that the 4 profit Ins Industry would be trying to distance themselves from any possible connection/payout to the fracking industry - just like distancing themselves from paying out for flood damage ( OH HELL NO They say ).

You have to wonder how they're going to handle Miami beach.

Any tourist trade sector really. Resort Hotels on pontoons? ( Well until the whole state is underwater anyway - Hey? )

Floridians, build a Rubio's Ark to prepare for the creeping overflow from the cesspool on the Potomac. Gitmo in Cuba seems close enough as a vacationing destination.

[-] 1 points by grapes (5232) 10 years ago

I said before that the decision on the KXL would be deferred to after the election to maximize campaign contributions. It has indeed been deferred.

The lobbying for the KXL benefits the public relations businesses especially in New York and the political coffers (which morph into fundings for private ends of the hatchet men for Big Money).

[-] 1 points by grapes (5232) 10 years ago

Oh will that flush out the cesspool and feed the geoduck in Pukejit sound of the Potomac? It sounds like the Cooks will have the very fattened delicacy of shredded geoduck.

Unrelated to DKA

This thread is about environment.

My comment is environment specific. I thought you might like to sign the petition.

No? Don't support fighting against polluters.

My bad.

It is far more than the U.S. national security. It is world security. The former Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Barack Obama failed all of our children and grandchildren in Copenhagen in 2009. Ignorance of the U.S. populace (mistaking trillions of dollars of benefits in mortality reduction alone for trillions of dollars of spending to fix the global common - they missed reading the sign of the number), not to mention renegades in other Anglophone countries (such as the U.K., Canada, and Australia), are the accomplices to the evil deed.

Hillary Clinton, the former U.S. Secretary of State, made promise in Copenhagen with climate funding backing from John Kerry, then Senator in Congress and now Secretary of State. Make the U.S. live up to its words like any leader should. Global greenhouse gas tax NOW.

When PCs took over minicomputers, Prime and Data General and Digital and Wang and all the big players gracefully folded shop. Why can't big oil and coal and gas do the same? Why are they sooooo shameful? If only Texas brains matched Texas attitude.

And the good news - is - USA's oil reserves are kept in the ground in used salt mines just like the Bayou Corne collapsed/growing/saltmine/sinkhole.

Wait a gosh darned minute - did I say good news? ( yes it was sarcastic to begin with ) Just think of the horrors ready to happen from that "bold" move. T fuckers!

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 10 years ago

The bad news?

We've been in an oil glut for years, and the prices keep rising.

They always have an excuse, although ultimately, it's all about the "investors", who are mostly themselves.

[-] 3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 10 years ago

The bad news?

Hmmm - perhaps = The Obvious OLD/Ancient Bad News? =

" We've been in an oil glut for years, and the prices keep rising.

They always have an excuse, although ultimately, it's all about the "investors", who are mostly themselves. "

Well Obvious - to those who have ever bothered to take a moment to look and think - anyway.

And "all" of that glut needs to remain UN-used!!!!
