Just came across this post from the Oathkeeper organization. I am very familiar with them. A lot of good people who are concerned about the direction of the country. Unfortunately there is a deep conservative mindset that pervades the group. Liberals and socialist mindsets will run into problems at their discussion forum. That said, their big beef is with the Federal Reserve and they have expressed sympathy with Occupy Wall Street to some degree because of this. In any event, my suggestion is to accept help from them were you can, but don't refuse to be bullied politically.

I like their idea of supporting the Constitution & Bill of Rights and refusing orders to violate the rights of their fellow citizens. There is certainly a lot to like about that.
Yep, the only thing that is of concern to me is the open hostility I have encountered at their discussion forum to liberals and socialists. Of course, not everyone there is openly hostile, but certainly a large percentage.
there is no such thing as capitalism it has never existed. fighting for it is fighting for corporate oligarchy. a free market democracy is a great idea.
Capitalism has never existed? . . . that's news to me.
its news to most people. got scammed.
its news to most people. got scammed.
I think another argument to make with the Oathkeepers who maintain that much of the left is anti-capitalism(which I don't believe it is) is that what the left opposes is laissez-faire and monopoly capitalism. Capitlism needs to be regulated to some degree in order to provide social equity. We live in a SOCIETY, not as isolated individuals.
The common ground is the Federal Reserve and the big banks on Wall Street.
I suggest steering clear of social issues since they have been a wedge of public opinion. Find the common ground and stand fast.
