People are rightly upset about the role of big money in politics. And it’s true that big money will win if it’s got the field to itself. But if you get the average voter involved and engage the collective weight of public opinion you will kick big money’s ass. -Barney Frank I am founding a lobbying organization to represent the rights of the majority. The organization has no predetermined political beliefs. We are simply here to make sure that the voice of the majority is not overwhelmed by the $3.5 billion dollars that was spent lobbying last year. We will be polling our members to determine where they stand. Any issue that receives 65% support (or opposition) we will take to our elected leaders. Once it hits 65% nationally, we will find every district that is aligned with the national perspective and contact that districts representative with the desires of their constituents. This will not only help us find a voice for the majority, but provide ammunition for the fight. We will be able to prove that we have support for the issue and that we have the votes to change the outcome of the next election if the current elected leaders do not listen to our desires. If you are interested please check out www.lobbydemocracy.com. If you like the idea, please post your support here so we can rise to the top of the list. If you have questions, feel free to either post them here or through our website's contact us form.
Actually our vote is our vote. We may not have exercised that power to its fullest potential, but the majority of changes that we are looking for are related to the government. Although the market is a market based economy, the relationship of that economy to the citizens of this country is a responsibility of the government and we must make our voices heard.
