So you fall in the 99% group and you say that the OWS does not represent you. There are only two reasons that someone says this...
1) They have not the slightest clue what OWS is REALLY about.
2) They think the America they live in right now is an utopia and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
3 of the most common problems people have with the movement are: no leaders, no (unified) message, and no (unified) demands.
We are the leaders...we are the message....we are the demands.
Everyone is their own leader. Leaders can be corrupted, co-opted, discredited, etc. No leaders makes it impossible to use this route to silence us.
The message is clear. This country is in bad shape. The 99% are not happy with how the country is being ran. We all have our own beefs and their are many of them. We all have our own grievances with the govt. We could give you a list but it would be longer than a typical congressional bill. We are all affected in different ways thus our problems and what is important to us is all different. The main problem is none of those problems are being dealt with. Politicians are to busy catering to the 1% to listen to the 99%
Our demand is that the govt listens to us and starts working for us. Fixing problems WE care about when we care about them. The people are rising up and telling the govt we are tired of do nothing corrupt politics that cater only to the rich and special interest. You will of satisfied us when there is no longer anyone protesting. That means we are all content enough to go back to our lives what little of them is left after you drained us.
For those that say we are in the wrong place... no we are not. We are everywhere. The epicenter is in NYC but we are everywhere....in the world. We do not need to stand out side the White House and Congress to protest. We want it known that we are everywhere. Plus unlike many of you think... most of us DO have jobs. Thus local protesting is more effective.
For those of you that say we are not having any affect or have not had any affect, I will leave you with this link :http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/msnbc/sections/news/CLGF-msnbc.pdf
We are making noise in DC and people with a lot of power are getting restless.
