It's pretty safe to say that the U.S. will have a president in 2012 and beyond. So who will each of you vote for? Will it be Obama for another four years? Or should we give someone else a try? WHO will you cast your vote for?
Honestly, I don't know yet. I'm not super fond of Obama's extension of the Bush tax cuts and his willingness to take money from and be associated with Wall Street. The mainstream Republican field? Forget it. Perry's track record is pretty much all about selling out to the highest bidder, and never will I ever vote for a creationist. Ever. E.v.e.r. I'm pro-gay rights and pro-choice, and Romney's been all over the place on those issues. As far as the economy goes, I want someone who will reassert mastery over corporations, not turn a blind eye to them the way Ron Lawl will, and not sell the country to them the way Rick Perry did. It seems like my ideal candidate would be Elizabeth Warren, and I may write her in.
Pro-choice on the day of what would be the birth? Wow.
Not once the fetus is fully viable; at that stage it would be better to carry to term and arrange for an adoption. In cases of severe defects to the fetus (there are things that can go wrong in which once the baby is born he or she will endure a few short months of excruciating pain before dying anyway) an abortion may still be justifiable. I personally believe that if one is going to get an abortion there is a moral obligation to do it as early as possible, and I don't like the idea of abortions in general.
That said, I'm a guy. I don't have a uterus and so I'll never be in a position to gain the life experience to be able to say whether an abortion would be a good idea in a given situation. Even if I don't agree with a specific decision by a specific woman I still don't have the right to take that option from her or anyone else. Honestly, I don't think anyone really can make that call for anyone but themselves and that this is one of those things that shouldn't be legislated one way or the other. That is what I mean by pro-choice.
well, I'll vote for anyone who is young, ethnically popular, and looks good in a suit. Especially if really cool people endorse him/her, like umnn Britney Spears.
what other reasons is there to pick the next american idol, umn i mean president.
Is that your real response?
well.. yes? lol
but they have to have something easy to remember. o i got one " Hope Change! Hope! Change"
I'm voting for RP, even if I have to write him in again like in '08. I guess that's all you really need to know about me.
oh, and I'd vote him in also. providing i was sure he could beat Osama. we can't chance another 4 years of this. no matter who takes over we just can't.
I'm afraid you will have to do just that. I heard him say he wasn't interested in running. :(
maybe a petition sent to his box might get him to reconsider?
You are saying then that the "other choice"... that other person who "will beat Obama" is going to be the opposite of "another 4 years of this"?
Really? You really believe that someone like Cain, Gingrich, Perry, Romney or Bachmann are going to NOT keep the same general policies in place??
And by general policies, I mean the following: 1) Federal Reserve is still in it's usual place of power, and not transparent. 2) The Military Industrial Complex is alive and well, war continues, new ones start 3) The IRS keeps on doing it's thing 4) Corporations will continue to have status as "a person" 5) The Constitution will continue to be eroded. 6) The War on Drugs will continue on, as usual.
So all of these things... they're going to change under "your candidate"?
believe? no, i know it.
grab some life experience and you'll see :) I've watched every dumbocrat since carter fuck this country up. not like i was born yesterday
Mickey Mouse always gets a nice turnout. I think he does better then some real third party candidates.
I am thinking of writing myself in. All OWS supporters should themselves in as well. Direct Democracy!
I guess you and those others who will be writing themselves in will not be our president in 2012. I mean, since that would only be one vote for each OWS member.
Hmmmm, I wonder who it will be then. ?
It's interesting how many people will avoid this type of question. Why hide? What's the problem with declaring who you will vote for?
Because the election is a year away. We have 12 months of global events, muckraking and mudslinging to filter through yet.
I have a response to this: The people who are running now... right now... and the person who is currently in office... they all have principles. (or at least should have principles). And those principles should not change... if they do change... if they "flip-flop", then you know you have yet another typical politician. Well, RP is not one of those. I've been paying attention to him since '08 and he is as solid as that document he seeks to defend : The Constitution of the United States.
Therefore, my point is... YOU CAN and should already have your eye on your favorite!
Please, please people. Do not just vote for who the media serves up to you. This is part of the magical way that the elite protects their power. They, being the elite and the media, give you one of two choices. The problem is, both choices ARE ONE and THE SAME. Both candidates will ultimately serve the interests of those pulling their strings. Do you really think the world would be that much different had McCain won in '08? Or Kerry in '04? Would the U.S. really not have went to war with Iraq and Afghanistan has Kerry been in office?
