Then we'll do something about campaign contributions, I think. A petition to strictly limit contributions or something.
It's a good idea, but you'll need a constitutional amendment to make it stick - otherwise it will get struck down by the Supreme Court like the Mcain-Feingold bill.
A better solution would be to end Corporate Personhood.
There you have it. I just looked that up. An amendment ending corporate personhood.
Number 2 . you know why OWS will not be successful? The 99 % is not going hungry and struggling for survival. Only then will the 99% want a real change. OWS is all talk and no action. The truth is, without a violent revolt, nothing will happen so pack up your tents and go back home.
I was a skeptic too until I saw with my own eyes that we removed a corrupt US senator in my state. The more often that this happens the more they will think twice. If there's no chance of your re-election it might be worth it to you to save your reputation as a decent human being.
It cannot and should not become violent. If it does, it will become self-defeating. Why do I say this? Because our entire Republic is based on the principle of protecting individual liberty, described as such in the Constitution. And our president is required to take an oath to "preserve, protect, and defend our Constitution". You cannot, therefore, ask the president to support those who enact violence on others.
