Or any of the founding fathers OWS would be moving forward not sideways. This movement has taken on the appearance and feel of trying to nail jello to a wall. The opportunity that is being lost because of the lack of structure to OWS is unfortunate as there may never come a better time to effectuate change. Obama is weak and the Republican field is pathetic. The goal posts are wide and the opportunity to change our government for the better has never been greater. Our system of government is still the best in the world. The fact is that certain aspects of the constitution are antiquated. If John Adams were here he would advocate using the power of the people to effectuate change. However, this will not happen without a clear platform and leadership. Taking the money out of politics and term limits are a start. Lets get some organization here and accomplish something before ots to late!!!!!!

My fav John quote: "Liberty cannot be preserved without general knowledge among the people."

I think he would get the facts, and then get something concrete accomplished; such as for OWS:

The OWS is focused on the wrong target.

If you could keep the fruits of your labor, and if you could choose to save, that would put you in control of your personal economy.

The Government has mandated to control your personal economy, and the Government has created the 1%. The Government will protect the 1% at all costs. The 1% is the symptom, our Government is diseased.

The American consumer is the inoculation. We must make our neighbor rich. We must regain our liberties that have been stolen over time.

The American people must elect sound leaders that will limit Federal powers and strengthen the United States. Strong civic government is essential.

money = dept There is no way in this system that everyone can save money. That amount of money simply doesn't exist. If we didn't live in a ponzi scheme, then maybe your logic could make sense. But the way things are build now, it is impossible.

I agree, the present monetary system prevents sound principles in self sacrifice. Our government has systematically made it impossible for us to mandate our own economy. If we build up a buffer for a rainy day, the government makes it worthless by printing more money to finance the debt created by undeclared wars.

The 1% is only a symptom of the the actual disease.

"Our system of government is still the best in the world."

Where do you base that on?

remember the majority of the OWS is made up of monkeys. watch some of the Interviews and footage in the parks and streets. these people are comical. then quite pathetic

You sincerely believe these people could organize? no more than marching or breaking something, shitting on a public service vehicle perhaps. beyond that? no. monkeys and those with the intelligence of, can not be organized any further.

"The money powers prey upon the nation in times of peace and conspire against it in times of adversity. The banking powers are more despotic than a monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy. They denounce as public enemies all who question their methods or throw light upon their crimes. I have two great enemies, the Southern Army in front of me and the bankers in the rear. Of the two, the one at my rear is my greatest foe."

Abraham Lincoln

"The bogus quotation is: "The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace, and it conspires against it in times of adversity. It's more despotic than monarchy. It's more insolent than autocracy. It's more selfish than bureaucracy.... Corporations have been enthroned, and an era of corruption in high places will follow...."

Phillips thought he could attach the moral authority of Lincoln to the theme of his book, but as historian Matthew Pinkser wrote on the website, History News Network, on June 3, the quote is nowhere in Lincoln's collected works, and his official biographer called it "a bold, unblushing forgery." http://www.lewrockwell.com/dilorenzo/dilorenzo25.html

whether it is bogus or not is irrelevant and should go a long way in demonstrating why it is better to look in ones mind and in the present for truth and not hang on the words and ideas of the dead, because they are not here to defend what they believed. Presently, people are homeless, jobless and hopeless and the money to get the economy moving is sequestered by the few.
