Here is an idea that I wanted to pass along. In order for real change to happen, we must be able to get the right people into office that can affect that change. If there was a website set up in which every single congressman was rated according to their voting record, we the voters could look at it and decide who want to vote for. The website needs to be set up similar to the Rotten Tomatoes movie rating site. Something very easy to understand.... perhaps on a scale of 0-100. This is one way that the movement can actually affect change.
The qualities that we seek in our representatives need to be carefully thought out. If we can bring true transparency, in which the voting records, not rhetoric can be shown, then it would be harder for congressman to hide under the mountains of information out there. Voters can simply go to the website, look up the people running, see their rating and make their choices. Perhaps there could be a set-up where we can see the voting results online...in real time. No more hiding.
The key to this, is that it has to be easy for the viewer to be able understand. Too complicated and people will be turned off. If we made it easy, then the better chance of getting people to do it.
People would need to be hired to get all the information. We also need to get people to endorse the program... people that the Ocuupy movement can get behind.. people that we can truly trust. We also have to make sure the opposition cannot interfere or sabotage.
The primaries are coming up soon. This needs to happen fast.
Just my two cents.
Planning for Occupation of the Democratic and Republican primaries is well under way.
