if there is one thing i would have liked to fight in government since i became old enough to vote 7 years and 3 weeks ago, it would be the fact that, democrat or republic, liberal or conservative, an extremely high percentage of "popular candidates", no matter what they say to the public, during their time in office or their campaign, in the end do extremely little for the PEOPLE of the nation and help certain financially powerful organizations with tax reductions or benefits or breaks or whatever people like me call selling their support to the highest bidder these days. government as a whole, i believe, should be non-partisan and unbiased, equally liberal and conservative, because that makes up the group known as "We, The People." There HAS to be separation of money and government, meaning government gets ONLY get what is due in taxes, and GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS get ONLY their paycheck, nothing more, nothing less. I believe that 100% of U.S. Citizens can agree on that, unless you are lying, like both Obama and Romney are. If I remember right, they both received OVER 15 MILLION a piece from wall street alone. Remember, I could be wrong on the figures, but I know from what hundreds of people from different beliefs agree with me on, is that I am ONLY wrong about the figures. EVERYONE BELIEVES THAT WE, THE PEOPLE, left and right, Higher class, Middle class, lower class, black, white, yellow, blue, green, purple, fat headed, floppy necked ( whatever people are using to separate us these days) agree on is that THERE IS OBVIOUS CORRUPTION BETWEEN THE RULERS OF THE U.S. ( financially powerful corps and individuals ) and the money hungry pawns ( an unknown but present percentage of politicians...and possibly political parties ). Anyone who says otherwise, please feel more than free to prove me wrong, you are most likely lying. I just urge that the anti-Semite and socialistic propaganda, along with anything else offensive to a totally unoffensive people as a whole, or contradictory to the AMERICAN belief of the democratic, capitalist U.S. Constitution, which was formed from the ( what I am not ashamed to believe to be the God inspired and edited) ideas of the Mosaic Law and Messianic commands and grievances (also the other highly valuable parts of what are known as the Jewish Torah and Christian Bible). You the reader may believe differently but if it were followed by every individual, read the bible to verify, NO ONE would EVER do wrong (good luck with that though, the way things are today) ok, trying my best to be all-representative again, that was only my heart speaking. We, The People, want a separation of possibly influential money and government, and since the IRS can watch us, I believe all individuals agree someone must watch "them".....please add points or critique.
You can only call yourself independent if you can spell independent.
hahaha I feel ENTITLED to be able to make a spelling error every once in a while
ça s'ecrit indépendant.
vous etes française?
Thank you for being open minded even though you say you are more conservative than liberal. I think it's important that both sides work together on common ground so we can put the power back in the hands of the voters.
can i get a AMEN!
Your post actually touches on the subject of moral development. Not an interesting topic for most of the people posting here, but is really at the heart of your post. In short, most people are at the third stage, a sort of I'll be good because the law says I have to...often this leads to situational ethics. If we can as a species evolve to the 4th stage, which is morality based on Universal principles (example: Jesus and The Buddha) many of the issues you bring up in your post would melt away. If you are interested read Kohlberg's Stages of Moral Development.

i already have a book to read about morality

nice artistic...ness, and i like what the message is at the end until you get to the "we are all manifestations of God part" i believe we are creations of God, being given free will, meaning we can screw up and do wrong...not a good thing, thats what politicians and beneficiaries of powerful businesses are doing. if we are all manifestations of God how can we do wrong? we wouldn't be able to, but we do, so that sounds wrong
when you are under the illusion that you are just your body..you dont realise you are a soul who comes back life after life to rise up so to speak..god is everything even the unconcious people peace
sooooo, you're talking about some sort of reincarnation? I know I have a soul
Those are mostly valid points. But if something isn't done about the obscene concentration of wealth, there will never be a true recovery. Never. Not one of us will live to see it...
We have been mislead by Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama, and nearly every other public figure. Economic growth, job creation, and actual prosperity are not necessarily a package deal. In fact, the first two are horribly misunderstood. Economic growth/loss (GDP) is little more than a measure of wealth changing hands. A transfer of currency from one party to another. The rate at which it is traded. This was up until mid ’07′ however, has never been a measure of actual prosperity. Neither has job creation. The phrase itself has been thrown around so often, and in such a generic political manner, that it has come to mean nothing. Of course, we need to have certain things done for the benefit of society as a whole. We need farmers, builders, manufacturers, transporters, teachers, cops, firefighters, soldiers, mechanics, sanitation workers, doctors, managers, and visionaries. Their work is vital. I’ll even go out on a limb and say that we need politicians, attorneys, bankers, investors, and entertainers. In order to keep them productive, we must provide reasonable incentives. We need to compensate each by a fair measure for their actual contributions to society. We need to provide a reasonable scale of income opportunity for every independent adult, every provider, and share responsibility for those who have a legitimate need for aid. In order to achieve and sustain this, we must also address the cost of living and the distribution of wealth. Here, we have failed miserably. The majority have already lost their home equity, their financial security, and their relative buying power. The middle class have actually lost much of their ability to make ends meet, re-pay loans, pay taxes, and support their own economy. The lower class have gone nearly bankrupt. In all, its a multi-trillion dollar loss taken over about 30 years. Millions are under the impression that we need to create more jobs simply to provide more opportunity. as if that would solve the problem. It won’t. Not by a longshot. Jobs don’t necessarily create wealth. In fact, they almost never do. For the mostpart, they only transfer wealth from one party to another. A gain here. A loss there. Appreciation in one community. Depreciation in another. In order to create net wealth, you must harvest a new resource or make more efficient use of one. Either way you must have a reliable and ethical system in place to distribute that newly created wealth in order to benefit society as a whole and prevent a lagging downside. The ‘free market’ just doesn’t cut it. Its a farce. Many of the jobs created are nothing but filler. The promises empty. Sure, unemployment reached an all-time low under Bush. GDP reached an all-time high. But those are both shallow and misleading indicators. In order to gauge actual prosperity, you must consider the economy in human terms. As of ’08′ the average American was working more hours than the previous generation with far less equity to show for it. Consumer debt, forclosure, and bankruptcy were also at all-time highs. As of ’08′, every major American city was riddled with depressed communities, neglected neighborhoods, failing infrastructures, lost revenue, and gang activity. All of this has coincided with massive economic growth and job creation. Meanwhile, the rich have been getting richer and richer and richer even after taxes. Our nation’s wealth has been concentrated. Again, this represents a multi-trillion dollar loss taken by the majority. Its an absolute deal breaker. Bottom line: With or without economic growth or job creation, you must have a system in place to prevent too much wealth from being concentrated at the top. Unfortunately, we don’t. Our economy has become nothing but a giant game of Monopoly. The richest one percent already own nearly 1/2 of all United States wealth. More than double their share before Reagan took office. Still, they want more. They absolutely will not stop. Now, our society as a whole is in serious jeapordy. Greed kills.
YES yes and more yes. You are talking my language. This fits in to what i have been posting all over these boards. Thank you!
Mcc, STOP, tell me what part of my post you believe to be wrong EXACTLY, because if we disagree, one of us is wrong. neither of us can prove we are right without many many other peoples opinions, preferably 300 million..ish
I'm ok with all of it except for the claim that we can all agree on taxes and spending, the claim that everyone agrees on corruption (if that were true, there would be none), the comment about 'socialist' propaganda (there is virtually none in the US. If there is an individuals name on the deed, it's not socialism), the implication that our constitution was written specifically to preserve capitalism, and the final implication regarding the IRS (sounds like another vague call to lower taxes). I don't support religion but but I do believe in freedom of religion. I'm pretty much with you on the rest of it.
How do you feel about Wall Street, the richest one percent, and the record high concentration of wealth?
