Open a business? Pay a business tax for every transaction to a private company - Visa/Mastercard or god forbid, Amex. Want to sell online? Ok, pay another tax to Ebay or Amazon. Don't want to work for your state? Too bad, you must collect your states sales tax and submit it or else you will go to jail. Your compensation? $0.00. Hire employees in the USA?? LMAO, you must pay SS/Medicare,Payroll,Income FED and State, WC, UE, etc. Tax tax tax tax tax tax tax tax.
I'm for eliminating all those taxes too. Just one tax. You pay your individual income tax. No tax on companies, no bullshit fees or compliance expenses.

We're taxing the wrong things.
Restore true progressive taxes and raise the top tax bracket to pre-Reagan levels. Restore the estate tax and prevent the creation of an aristocracy. Implement a wealth tax and dismantle the existing aristocracy.
"Wrong" as in you'd rather the taxes fall on someone else.
I pay a higher effective federal tax rate than the top 400, who only pay about 16%, and I get nothing for it.
Says you. We tax different things at different rates. A higher effective tax rate of what? Say, you wouldn't be counting social security and medicare, now would you? Liberals love to tout those taxes, but conveniently omit that they're backed by future entitlement payments.
Really, you get nothing? That's just ignorant.
I don't consider corporate subsidies, war, etc. to be benefits. Local (and to a much lesser extent state) taxes pay for police, fire, schools, roads and other infrastructure and services that I do benefit from.
As I said: "federal taxes", meaning income taxes.
Great. I guess because you don't like "corporate subsidies" and "war", whatever the hell that's supposed to mean, that that's all government does. Sure, you get nothing. Smarten up.
"Federal taxes" means a lot more than income taxes. But regarding income taxes, no you don't.
FICA taxes pay for social security and Medicare, or it is supposed to, and both are wholly inadequate.
You negelcted to mention the inflation tax. I would sure like to be the one to create the money and spend it. Of course I would only use it to stabilize the economy. I would never dream of using it to keep my bankster buddies from going bankrupt from taking to many risks, or to fund unconstituional government spending.
