Historically Gandhi style resistance worked, because it was carried out in areas that were away from the controlling democratic governments that were dependent on public opinion.
Now we're trying it here, but do we still have a democratic form of government? IMHO, the problem with Gandhi style peaceful resistance in western countries, is that we are the minds we're trying to change. We are the public opinion, but we no longer have a peoples democratic government.
People gradually come to a sense of their own power.
good points. let's try this:
"The Million People March to Capital Hill to Reinstate The Glass-Steagall Act and to Finally Close The Enron Loophole"

I dont think that'll do it. IMHO, only when we have a peaceful National Strike, will change really be a possibility. When you have progressives work the southern states to change long standing opinions, like the old civil rights days, will election change be possible.
Reinstating Glass-Steagall should be the top priority right now for OWS.
that and closing The Enron Loophole:
So why are oil prices high? The Enron Loophole. Former Head of U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Professor Michael Greenberger, speaks to Congress on the high price of oil--and he's not happy about Energy Deregulations:

Always a winner. Dont forget the Volker Rule.
