The control England had over the colonies was through currency. The bank industry controlled much of parliament in an unsettling similarity to our government today.

Ben Franklin proposed that the US colonies print their own currency and usurp the power held over them by the british aristocracy.

The only reason the 1% has so much control over us is because they control the currency. We need to take back our currency, either through printing our own or reforming government so that the fed is a publicly accountable organization through voting. We do not elect the fed chairman and they have no reason to answer to us.

“The Colonies would gladly have borne the little tax on tea and other matters had it not been the poverty caused by the bad influence of the English bankers on the Parliament, which has caused in the Colonies hatred of England and the Revolutionary War.” - Ben Franklin
