If you really want to send Wall Street a message they will understand then do the following.
- Sell all stocks, bonds, mutual fund, money market and other investments.
- Transfer all money to Credit Unions.
If the majority of the people in our country did this over the next 30 days, the media would get the message, the politicians would get the message and the ultra wealthy would get the message.
Money talks. Bullshit Walks.
Banks and investment banks operate for a profit at our expense. Credit Unions are non-profit and have insured accounts for share drafts (checks), savings and CD's. You can even roll over IRA funds into IRA CD's and Roth IRA's into Roth IRA CD's with Credit Unions.
Unfortunately, 401K funds can not be transferred or rolled over to Credit Unions. Email, call or write Congress to pass laws to change this.
Unless this Occupy Wall Street movement gets some money moving out of Wall Street, you will not get their attention.
Message meaning you want what? Here is a suggestion: Take away the ability of corporations to be as corrupt by LIMITING ALL SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN TO 2 TERMS. This can be the PURPOSE of your movement. Corporations "attach" themselves to congressmen and especially senators so laws are made which only benefit the corps. We are not against corps and good business, yet decisions must be made with the whole US in mind. Lobbyists and interests groups by definition are undemocratic; their concerns are for a very limited group, not the financial well being of the country.

I agree with the idea. I am a member of a Credit Union and I feel that I get better service.
The only problem is that it's a huge hassle to switch, so most people won't do it.
I also think that people should consolidate all their credit cards and refinance through a credit union. this means people without a lot of money can move their debt out of the big banks too- if they don't have money to move- debt is good too!
I agree and did this myself. We could break up the banking monopoly ourselves in a few days just by shifting our money to a local credit union that is a nonprofit. THIS is the only language they understand
Get real... Focus on a real solution... Any solutions to these real political problems has to be political, practical & legal...& do-able...

Vote for any one who supports these ideas.
Sorry but they don't want your money. They have to much cash and are considering charging you to store it at the bank. The don't need your money to make loans. They get interest free money from the fed. All they want! You have to look at the profit centers of the banks.
Vote out every incumbent. It would undermine and weaken corporate influence in Washington DC.
lets say we all do close our accounts with the big banks and put it in a credit union or local small bank....what does the credit union then do with the money - does the money end up back with the big banks anyway?
Those things are for people who HAVE money, and if you still have some, chances are your head is still in the sand..
