Slavoj Zizek asked, “What social organization can replace capitalism?”
We do not need and should not want to replace capitalism. It is our best form of economic relationship. But our capitalism needs to be firmly managed by an honest government that includes and represents the entire electorate. Our government’s greatest dishonesty is its electoral system.
I have written a book “Beyond Plutocracy – True Democracy for America”, available free at www.beyondplutocracy.com. My book offers a partial redesign of our government that, I believe, really fixes in just the right way what is really wrong with it.
My design includes an absolutely honest electoral system that empowers all members of the electorate to run for office for free and to reach out to each other across the entire nation to elect their champions to office, those that resemble them in body, mind, interests and pocketbook. The result is a congress that automatically demographically resembles and honestly represents the entire electorate as it creates laws and rules for the market economy and the rest of society.
And my design empowers the electorate to directly decide how much private sector and how much government it wants. The electorate has the sole power to tax and to directly make other central economic decisions.
