It's all about getting back to basics and the simple principal of Supply & Demand.
What difference can it make?
Lower Prices Local Jobs Protect the Environment End Influence by Big Business on Government
A. Farm
- The average garden can provide a family of four with more produce than they can likely use in a year.
- Need produce you don't farm? Barter or buy local.
B. Hunt/Fish
- Provides meat/fish that can supplement farming and lower demand for groceries.
- Funding for licensing will help preserve the environment and provide local jobs.
C. Recycle
- Recycling protects the environment.
- Recycling your own aluminum cans makes you money.
- Recycling food waste makes excellent compost.
C. Barter 1.Trade for what you can before you buy.
D. Buy Local
- Local products mean local jobs.
- Buy local brand versus national brands.
- Buy exclusively "made in usa" products when possible.
E. Educate Yourself and Vote
- I would imagine that the results of how each politician voted on a bill is public record. If not it should be.
- True bi-partisanship by the people. a. Break the results down into two categories those that voted for and against issues that matter to you by percentage. b. Do not reelect anyone, regardless of party, that did not votes in your favor less than 75% of the time.
- Elect people, regardless of party, that support your ideas.
Why do I write this? Well I am not a hippy or a under educated college student looking to jump on whatever protect I can. I am a happily employed middle class American father of two that doesn't want to see my parents loose their homes because Social Security and Medicare go away or get drastically reduced. Nor do I want the dream that I have worked so hard for most of my life to have, disappear. And mostly because I don't want the country that my two daughters are about to journey out into and my unborn grandchildren some day to look back at me and say "Why didn't you stop this from happening?".
