Snowden’s leaked revelations included a top secret order from the FBI sent to Verizon on behalf of the NSA, demanding the call records of every American customer of Verizon Business Network Services, a PowerPoint presentation on an NSA program known as PRISM that boasted of access to the data of Google, Microsoft, Facebook and others, an executive order from President Obama calling for the NSA to draw up a list of cyberattack targets.
I can't believe what I am hearing on "Morning Joe," not that I am really surprised, but, my god. They are actually arguing that the majority of Americans will support the NSA because they are keeping us "safe" by tracking all of our data.
Wow. If that is true, it only goes to show how totalitarian this state has become and how it is probably too late for us.
There's a great tweet by the reporter who broke the NSA story. Someone says to him "Not sure if this applied to you but most of us don't care if the NSA knows everything because we have nothing to hide." Reporter tweets back. "OK - please send me all of your email logins and passwords so I can publish them online."
Yes, you're right... Many people are in the good little consumer mindset -- but I believe there are more people awake than we think. Remember - 7 companies own all the world's media and the revolution will not be televised. So just because morning joe and others are framing it as though half of America or more think this is ok doesn't mean that's the case. I think in fact there is an unusual nexus between conservatives and progressives on this issue, a nexus that may very well result in an historic shift here.
Yes, I'd quite like to see all of Mika Brzezinski's private emails. Bring it f-ing on!!!
And, you are definitely right, that, of course, the majority of Americans do not agree with this horrid and illegal invasion of their privacy.
all those private companies already have our information
why shouldn't we
congress not knowing about the NSA records that have been collected since the begnning of the internet in the 80's
OK

Daniel Ellsberg - ''In my estimation, there has not been in American history a more important leak than Edward Snowden's release of NSA material – and that definitely includes the Pentagon Papers 40 years ago. Snowden's whistleblowing gives us the possibility to roll back a key part of what has amounted to an "executive coup" against the US constitution.'' Finally Glenn Greenwald in chat with Amy Goodman :
