As a disabled person is see healthcare costs going up. Many say take away services. But they don't speak about why costs are going up. The reason is corporate greed! They see our bought government ignore them stealing by raising prices to ridiculous levels. Every product is priced according to whatever they can get away with! And on the other hand they cut actual coverage with a Dr. to a joke. I'm authorized for 3 minute appointments with my Dr. I've watched them discuss price point marketing on products. Choosing 2,500 percent profit margins on every expensive products. Tax dollars pay for many of these things an their stealing from all of us. LETS CAP PROFITS ON MEDICAL SUPPLIES AN SAVE HEALTHCARE SERVICES FOR POOR AND DISADVANTAGED!
Profit caps will bring the system down. Competition must be increased. There is an unconstitutional ban on purchasing insurance out of state. Stupid and must go. Malpractice insurance costs doctors a fortune because everyone sues their doctor at the drop of a hat. Must be addressed. Allow me to purchase services from an unlicensed doctor and I will bring my costs through the floor.
the issue with malpractice lawsuits is courts awarding outrageous settlements.
In my research I've learned this issue is greatly over blown! All you have to do is look at company profit margins to know their making money hand over fist!
Only one percent of healthcare costs come from lawsuits.
in one state they cap the amount you can sue for to $3 million or something, which helps the malpractice stuff a bit. But with patented drugs, they really can charge obscene amounts because they have the only cure, and people will spend whatever they can when it comes to someone's life.
great addition its unbelievable our businesses do that!
I think the food industry should pay for our health care.
We should rename it "Youth Movement". The problem we are facing is much bigger than just Wall Street. We have to stand up for the Future Generations and let the Youth's voice be heard on issues such as Taxes, Lobbyist, Education, Healthcare, Wars, etc...
So many explanations ... what is really the cause? May I offer my own? We have a system, which is found in very few countries, instituted as I understand during the WWII when companies needed to lure workers but could not do it with increased wages due to the economic situation of the time, whereby the health consumer does not, or rarely pays, for his own health care, but rather is funded (or was funded) by the employee's company. What if you didn't buy your own food, but had third parties, protected and assured that there would be little competition to their business, that controlled that process? Think it through, what would happen? (and yes the health insurance industry is protected by the government). Health care prices are distorted, the health care industry and how we use it is distorted...how you fix that is not going to be resolved by some demand that there is a cap on services. (may I remind you that we are already printing money 'til kingdom come). This post comes from someone, though healthy, has no employer-based healthcare and pays through the nose for a private catastrophic plan. I believe that competition in the health care industry, i.e. health care consumers become DIRECT payers for their health care, is the best solution.
Do you believe it appropriate to have healthcare for profit? It seems to me if a person can't afford it they shouldn't be forced to suffer. This could be solved so easily with single payer healthcare. Allow a good wage an profit for all included, but limit how much they can take, because anyone will gill everything they have to save their, or their loved ones life. Unfortunately many already have to! but heaven forbid there's no profit in something.
