Here is the compensation for Health Insurance CEO's in 2009. Yes health care may have increased, but where do you think this money is coming from -- your premiums. Aetna - 18 million Coventry - 17 million WellPoint - 13 million United Health Care - 9 million Cigna - 6.5 million Humana - 6.5 million HealthNet - 3.6 million
These are the CEO's compensation, one person earns this much money annually. When they tell you why your premiums have increased because of health care costs have increased, remind them of these salaries and ask where do you think this money comes from?
Hi Nolajoe, Thank you for this information. You have made a good point.
The CEO does not care if you live or die, it is all about them making their ridiculous profit.
People pay on Health insurance for years, only to get dumped the first time they use it.
The retail cost of medical is exclusively high, but the insurance company does the secret settlement with the medical provider, and really only pays a fraction of retail. However, the insurance company bases the cost of health insurance on the retail price. This practice unfairly excludes many from getting medical.
If the system based pricing on the actual cost of medical, and not the false retail price, many more people could afford health insurance, or could just pay their bills themselves.
