I'm not opposed to wealth. I'm opposed to wealth having a greater influence on politics than reason or the voice of the people.

I also heard Kanye loves fish sticks.

Did he get a government bailout too?

[-] 2 points by Mrcake (27) 13 years ago

I have no problem with artists performing as long as they donate to the process. This is becoming some hippy jan festival instead of a rightfull protest, and tbh its pissing me off

[-] 1 points by annecurrey (30) 13 years ago

That's because they think they are welcome. If they are booed away and cited among the super wealthy, they will get lost.

Did anyone ask him if he would donate additional taxes? My suggestion for any high profile celebrity visiting the camp would be to down right ask if they will support the middle and lower class by way of a tax donation. Get in their face and don't leave until you receive the CORRECT answers.

We don't want or need celebs. THEY are part of the problem. Boo them away, tell them to donate their mansions to the poor and live in row houses like the rest of us.

here here - celebs and pro-athletes! many give their money to great causes but many take take and take. pure egocentric mania!

Russell Simmons showing up in the first couple of days gave the protest the media attention they needed. Kanye showing up does the same thing.

Simmons' card is more expensive than a free checking account but guess what, it provides a service for low income people with bad credit who don't qualify for any checking account and who need to get direct deposits from their job and maybe have access to a Visa debit card.

It's much less predatory than payday loans and it provides more services than a check-cashing outfit does for the 2.5 % or whatever they take.

"What a load of hypocrites" who are you referring to?

Just being rich doesn't make a person bad.

[-] 2 points by Mrcake (27) 13 years ago

This is true, thats why this movment is fucking up, its note about people being wealthy, its about people who fuck us to become wealthy, people who sell our jobs to china while we suffer, its not about people being successful. Its about corruption people, please god don't fuck this up. This is for me too

[-] 2 points by annecurrey (30) 13 years ago

It doesn't make them one of us. Most of their money is inveested by the Wall St. people we are against. They sold out and are NOT welcome.

"I know you have a good protest and I gives you props, but that TEA party has a better protest"-Kanye West

[-] 1 points by MrWombat (124) 13 years ago

Bleh Kanye...

I hate mainstream rappers that mooch off anything politics to "look serious and like I care" and not because they actually care. If he actually donates to the cause and helps us out in a tangible way then maybe we could tolerate him but if he's just there to show his face and suck in the publicity and make people that have lost their homes and jobs and rights look bad by making outrageous attention grabbing vapid comments like the attention whore that he is then maybe we should distance ourselves from Mister "Beyonce had the best video of all time!"

We don't need another Will.I.Am.

i agree, just because you have money doesnt mean it came with any sort of education of morals

[-] 1 points by notresponsible42 (64) from Jacksonville, FL 13 years ago

Sweet. Yes, let us protest him too.

[-] 1 points by occupythishipster (2) 13 years ago

while you at it..you have guys like Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Russel Simmons

[-] 1 points by annecurrey (30) 13 years ago

Sarandon and the rest are NOT welcome among us. Who the hell do they think they are? Do they think we will overlook their mansions and forget that we are struggling in row houses? Do they have any educational loans to pay back? Boo them away.

[-] 2 points by skizzy (445) 13 years ago

but there are people much much richer then these entertainers. There are people that do not work at all.

"I left the Democratic plantation a long time ago". Quote of the year by Herman Cain. Awesome.

[-] 1 points by thebeastchasingitstail (1912) 13 years ago

If Cain gets elected, are all us wage slaves gonna have to wear red & blue polyester uniforms, like his pizza slaves do?
