What? No we're not here representing a dealership.
What? What do you mean why are we singing this song? We're singing Christmas carols. You know tis the season.
It's not a Christmas carol? Just what do you mean by that? You hear it everywhere in celebration of the season.
You say the melody is correct but that the words are wrong? How so?
oh . . .OH, I get it it's supposed to be Happy Holidays. Sure sure I can see where that might make more sense.
People listen-up we had the words wrong on this one. . it's supposed to be Happy Holiday . . . I know, I know, who knew, right? Anyway lets try it from the top just remember to substitute Holiday for Honda . . .OK? OK then here we go.
Happy Honda days.......Damn. One more time......................
Oh...Frosty the Ad Man was a very jolly.............
Sorry again!
Commercialism attack.
Rudolph the brown nosed reindeer had a very..........
Sorry got to daydreaming about all of the mindless greed supporters.
My Bad.
Hey! Are you old enough to remember when cable TV was 1st introduced?
Yeah . . . good times . . Good times.
I mean what was really great about this new service was . . . . now get this.
No Commercials. None, nada, zip, not one single commercial was to be ever shown on Cable TV. This was a very great thing at the time. I mean - WOW!
How was this possible you might ask?
Well this is the really neat thing about the concept.
You see. Because you were paying for the service the Cable Co. didn't need to sell advertising space. Seriously!
And you know things only get better over time. What with all of the millions of subscribers just think of the possibilities. It's mind boggling.
But wait! What happened? Such a great concept, such a great service! What went wrong? Greed you say? But how is this possible we were doing so well ................
LoL!
Thanks Zen, I like trying to make a point with humor and its really great if I hit the right spot. ( I'm not always as humorous as I think I am )
The sad thing is, is that there are children growing up right now who wont realize that it's not a Christmas carol.
Gotta love blatant commercialism.
More proof of Television mind control/brainwashing at its finest. Neuro Linguistic Programming, NLP and repetition. It happens to adults too, they do not realize it.. Some crave pizzas shortly after dominos pizza commercial, some crave doritos, etc. Depends on what personality you are.; Keep the kids away from the TV when at all possible....Otherwise you will have an out of control teenager at its worst. My grandmother used to dance around flapping arms like chicken and sing the "I Feel lick Chicken tonight, Chicken tonight...." She thought it was the new chicken dance. NLP/Mind control/subliminal suggestion/repetition. We are a race of robots. They are who elect your leaders. Not all of us , this is a funny post.
Thank you for the support. The ad industry may solve the watching TV problem for us. As the quantity of commercials seen in a 1/2hr or 1hr time period continues to increase, they will drive people away, because people will no longer be able to get involved in a story or other entertainment. It may be what finally kills professional sports on TV, there is so much advertising during games now that they have started cutting coverage of the play that is happening. Talk show hosts may appreciate it in one way, as they won't need to work so hard to come up with material to fill their time slot, but they may also get very frustrated in trying to hold onto an audience because the interruptions are so long or so frequent that the home audience just channel surfs.
I have a TV, my dad stops by and watches it, I barely unless a DVD or my computer on large screen - never bother with it much anymore. I cant watch sports, only in person at stadium
Lets hope that this is a growing trend. People are spending way to much time being entertained by something that does not encourage thought.
I like discovery channel, history, etc. Tune in for weather channel here & there - and news to take in from all sides, and compare online. Then I draw own conclusions...
That's a healthy start for gathering food for thought.
