1st watch the following presentation - there is a lot of information to take in all at once - unless of course you are already somewhat familiar with the subject matter - and then - YES - There is STILL a lot of information to consider.
Why The Self-Help Industry Is An Enormous Failure
As a beforehand critique - Beforehand for you as I have already seen the program once:
It was a very good - perhaps even inspired presentation.
But where as it focuses ( kind of ) on trying to be more extroverted - it talks about empathy more then being introvert/extrovert. I believe that it is a combination of Introvert/Extrovert that needs to be achieved.
Very interesting, thanks. The point about empathy is well taken. I think lasting change must be based on idealism and spritual expansion, and not simply on wealth equality.
I'm not sure I agree about the self-help movement. I think it has been valid and powerful in it's under-the-radar way, but I won't nit pick here because the overall message is right on.:)
Yeah - overall a pretty good intro to what empathy is and how it can help others to see the world through other eyes - if they wanted to try.
I myself grew-up trying to understand the world and my place in it and how others saw the world and their place in it.
That is why I made that comment about understanding and using aspects of both introvert/extrovert qualities to understand self and other and the world we live in.
This is all very simplistic and shallow - but I don't want to go diving deep - I just wanted to bring up some good light general food for thought. Sorry.
I think it was very good! Nothing to be sorry about! It gets to the heart of what we need to do! We are encouraged to see our self-interest as separate from the general interest, but we live on one planet, and so our interests are finally inseperable. Thanks for the post!
You Sir are welcome. {:-])
Excellent artwork. Excellent film. An opportunity to think and reflect before acting. My outlook has certainly changed after 15 years of combined experiences.
But what is the outcome? That is a lot less certain and ensured.
I watched it .. but I think I missed the point..
Sorry - maybe you need more time - and perhaps a few more viewings. There is an awful lot of information that is presented fairly quickly. And if you are not familiar with the concepts it will be even harder.
I will have to take your word for it DKA.. very talented artist though..
