Grey's season 8 episode 11 "This Magic Moment" promo

"The doctors split into teams for a risky surgery involving conjoined twins; Bailey recruits Meredith to be a buffer between her and Ben when he puts pressure on moving their relationship to a more serious level; Richard teaches Alex a tough lesson in the OR; meanwhile Teddy questions Cristina about what exactly happened to Henry during his surgery."

The first new episode back after the midseason break ended with Teddy finally finding out her husband's dead, but it looks like she's one again going to have to put her personal life aside because of work. She is going to talk to Cristina about what happened; how will that conversation go? That was quite the tough position that Teddy and Owen put Cristina into. However it does go, they'll have to put that aside for some time because the doctors are going to have a tricky surgery to perform, and it can easily go very bad.

In the Grey's Anatomy season 8 episode 11 promo for "This Magic Moment" (below), everyone's ready for a surgery they've been practicing for months, and those not involved seem to be watching from observation. It's that big of a surgery. They're about to give "new lives," as Owen puts it, to conjoined twins. Meanwhile, Ben's making his move on Bailey, and he's not shy about going after what he wants, despite her pulling back. It looks like there's also going to be some conflict between Mark and Lexie, who never seem to be single at the same time anymore to give themselves a chance to get back together. Will that happen this season? It doesn't look like they're headed for a good place in this promo. However, it looks like the real trouble is going to come with their patients, as a woman, looking very upset, says the doctors talked them into it. Did something go wrong with the surgery?

The medical crisis of the week: As we see in the preview, this episode revolves around "a risky surgery involving conjoined twins." More specifically, the docs "split into teams" to carry out the surgery. If the preview is anything to go by, you can expect major complications. Bailey and Ben need a buffer: We guess Bailey really is over her Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) issues, because she "recruits to Meredith be a buffer between her and Ben when he puts pressure on moving their relationship to a more serious level." Based on the preview, it sounds like Ben wants Bailey to move in. "Admit it," he says, "you want to live with me." That's definitely a big step forward, since they aren't even dating right now!

Alex learns a lesson: Meanwhile, "Richard [James Pickens, Jr.] teaches Alex [Justin Chambers] a tough lesson in the OR." Because apparently poor Alex hasn't already been having a hard enough time.

Teddy learns more about Henry: It shouldn't come as a surprise that this episode will also involve Teddy (Kim Raver) questioning "Cristina (Sandra Oh) about what exactly happened to Henry during his surgery." Get out the tissues, folks, because these scenes are sure to be heartbreaking.

Remember to tune in to the episode on Thursday, January 12, at 9 pm ET/PT on ABC.
