Just asking Congress to vote in the interest of the people is like asking the fox guarding the henhouse to stop hitting on the hens and starve itself out. It won't happen. Politicians eat their hot dogs diligently with the people come election time but once in Congress, vote in favor of special interest who finance their campain. The only way out is to make loudly public in the media the association between campain contributions from oligarchs and voting record, and do this mercilessly nationaly and in each district at election time. Public financing of political parties, although not without it's problems, would reliably take Big Money out of politics if backed by a rabid watchdog. No system is ideal but anything is better than this oligarchy gouging on the lower 99% while a complacent legislative body observes silently then bails out the bad guy. Time to get back to "government of the people, by the people, for the people". HopelesslyNaive
Not Naive. American. Real American. What your founding fathers had hoped for.
