This link is to Slate.com which recently posted some tips for OWS to keep the movement going. I strongly encourage OWS to especially consider the tip of asking that the Bush era tax cuts be repealed for over $1 million earners. This would give OWS a more clear agenda and energize more to rally behind the cause. Good luck!

OWS needs to know what happened

read more -- http://overthecoals.blogspot.com/

Leslie Stahl, the 60 Minutes lady, interviewed Jack Abramoff the convicted briber bag man (lobbyist). Leslie acted shocked when Jack revealed the entire government is bribed. Is Leslie a government shill pretending to be surprised at bribery, or is Leslie a moron. Either choice is bad. This is exactly what OWS people need to be protesting right now.

I'd be grateful--please excuse that I'm posting this elsewhere, too--if I could make the following urgent plea, and thanks very much.

URGENT PROPOSAL: OWS to call for a massive EMERGENCY national action including all our union support, to oppose Congress's upcoming attempt to impose--is it a trillion dollars?--in cutbacks to social programs that the 99% depend on. Obama will prove useless in opposing the cuts, so WE HAVE TO STOP THEM! I’m referring to the virtual dismantling of essential social programs, using the deficit as an excuse. In an hour-long talk on YouTube to Occupy Boston, Noam Chomsky describes this projected assault on the 99% as a dagger aimed straight at the heart of the country.

Thank you, everyone.

After I sent the above post, I realized that a national action can be all across the country at individual Occupies in coordination, it doesn't have to be a march on Washington yet. Those national mobilizations take a long time to plan, buses from unions, permits--a lot of organization has to go into them. But something like the October 15th international action would be great. Thanks again.

Americans ignore the insanity and incompetence of the government

read more -- http://overthecoals.blogspot.com/

Let's begin with the budget and the squandering of trillions of dollars on more and more weapons. Only raving maniacs would create the American foreign policy and defense policy. Americans do it with a straight face as if they were sophisticated and educated people.

The economists and bankers in America have created policies that allow and promote wild gambling with derivatives that they claim are complex as if they worked. They worked to destroy the banking system and put 50,000,000 Americans out of work with the globalization policy that is nothing more than simple slavery of Chinese workers. That slavery is hidden behind the bogus claim that China's currency is too strong. If China allowed its currency to rise in value to the dollar, the US debt they own $1.137 trillion (the same as it was in August 2010) would be paid back with half of what they loaned.

The Chinese government isn't stupid. They aren't going to take half of what they loaned. The American people are completely uninformed nitwits who have no clue that the government they believe can't be voted out of office with a 3rd party, would be gone if they heard what SCREWED AGAIN is trying to publish for them.

The ignorance and incompetence of the American government is displayed by the liars that divert attention to 9/11 every day. The American people refuse to hear about and understand the evidence that proves clearly the 9/11 was a direct attack by Bush who was warned officially more than 40 times and chose to use the Al-Qaeda attack as a false flag for the incidents revealed by SCREWED AGAIN.

I'm not sure that I understand everything you're saying about the economy and China's debt, but your knowledge is impressive. I'd like to know more how it works--and, excuse my ignorance, but what is a derivative? I've heard all those terms but for some reason I'm having a hard time getting it. The OWS piece explaining how Goldman bought insurance against its own bad investments was extremely helpful, and I'd like to learn more how the system works.

But I disagree with your characterization of the American people as nitwits. That's coming from the ruling 1%, who have contempt for the 99%. We have to un-brainwash ourselves of so much anti-worker prejudice that runs deep. I completely agree with you that the public is uninformed, which is why OWS is making a huge, huge contribution and providing real education in spite of the corporate-controlled news media.

It's no small feat that OWS has kept itself in the headlines, and continues to grow. For example, in contrast, during the invasion of Iraq in 2003, we didn't see the full extent of the atrocities against the Iraqi people who were being bombed by Shock and Awe, etc. The news we got was highly sanitized. But it wasn't in the European press, which was where I got a lot of information, especially from a reporter named Robert Fisk (at Z Magazine).

OWS has already, in only one brief nano-second, historically speaking, had an earthshaking effect on our country, especially in what the 99% are starting to understand aboutt our common situation. I'm a radical myself, but before OWS I wasn't aware just how staggering the vast difference in wealth between the 1% and 99% really was.

Regarding the idea that 9/11 was an inside job, I don't agree with it in light of all the statements by Al-Qaeda claiming credit for it, but it gave the rulers exactly what they wanted to be able to go into Iraq. In an earlier comment, I quoted a statement from Goebels at the Nuremberg trials, that it's easy to get the public to go to war, even though they don't want to. He said, to get them to fight, all you have to do is convince them they're being attacked . Several years ago at a demonstration I met someone who told me about a book written by the Neocons (Rumsfeld and others), called [Something] for a New American Century, which described their goal of global hegemony. And how they wanted to go into--I think it was actually Iraq--the oil-rich countries in the Middle East. But they concluded they wouldn't be able to pull it off because the American people wouldn't go along with a war of invasion--absent a catastrophic event like Pearl Harbor. (This statement's around page 293 in this New American Century book). Then Bin Laden handed the 1% exactly what they wanted. Bush & Company got their Pearl Harbor.

All this is why we HAVE to have leadership, a movement that can answer the lies, which OWS has done, and is doing--magnificently.

Thanks again, everyone.

You're welcome. After you read the blog send the link to all your email and Facebook friends. We must expose the privileged coherently or this OWS PROTEST WILL BE wasted.

It looks bad from here.

Hi, Steve? I copied the link, and I'll take a look at it, but you do sound a bit foaming at the mouth, if you know what I mean. I don't agree with what appears to be your trashing of OWS. But I'll try to get a chance to look at it.

Solidarity.

OWS is trashing the mission to elect a new government now 2012.. Thuis is not a nursery school for fairy tales. The fight is against vicious criminals that have destroyed our jobs which was the wealth of America. They moved the work to slaves.

OWS needs help and that is what I intend to do. OWS is in a swamp of hypocrisy. To sit in the park is counter productive. We need to campaign by exposing the CRIME FAMILY living on bribes. Read my blog.

I will report the 60 Minute story soon. Leslie Stahl acting surprised.

They need to dismantle bailouts and then the Military before Social programs. Isn't Cain behind this sellout?
