A few years ago I divided the global GDP by the approximate number of people.
It came out to about 5,000.00 per person.
I nearly choked...after all, I couldn't live on that.
Maybe we can't save the world but here in the United States we are prosperous enough to provide everyone with the basics: food, healthcare, education, shelter, clothing. Why don't we?
People should be rewarded for their efforts and I don't want to penalize anybody for success, as long as that success doesn't come at an unreasonable expense for their fellow man.
I just don't understand how there are people in this world who don't feel the same way.
The 1% look at the 99% as ants. They could not even begin to feel anything for a fellow human being except as a low class worker bee to be used and manipulated.
Agree. Although you should know that the cost of living is not the same everywhere. A large percentage of the earth's population lives on less than $2.00 per day.
