I am thankful for not living in India where the seeds are copyrighted/patented, and the farmers are thousands of dollars in dent to Megacorps like Monsanto. (Some of these farmers committed suicide to escape their debt slavery.)
I am thankful for not living in China where I would only be paid 1 dollar an hour, an amount below a living wage. (Many of these workers also have committed suicide to escape.)
I am thankful for not living in Arabia where governments are run by religious dictators and freedom of speech..... doesn't exist.
I am thankful that I like in America (or Europe) where even $8 an hour Walmart employees earn more money in one year than 90% of the world will earn in ten years. I am thankful I was born here rather than Arabia, China, or India.
I am thankful that I am in the top 10% of the world's wealthiest and freest human beings.
I am also thankful to God that I am Russian. Now it's time to think about others.
Kinda makes you wonder what the complaining is about? We're already "rich" compared to the rest of the world (we're in the top 10%). If wealth were fairly redistributed, then our money should be taken and given to the Chinese and Indians and other bottom 90% of poor peoples.
It's not about wealth. It is about freedom. Of course, in comparison with the countries mentioned. Although Russia is, of course, in financial terms - has grown considerably.
Yeah it's hard to be free when you have Governments or government-created entities (corporations) smashing the people underfoot. Personally I think corporate licenses should be completely revoked and never issued again.
God Bless the USA!
Here's to hoping you still feel the same way this time next year
