When is the general strike for everyone comming? Oakland's a Great start and all. But i dont live there. How about a dont come back after tday strike?

Strikes and Boycotts are the most effective things folks can do. Money is all they understand. There needs to be more and more of them.

I think a strike should be in the form of taking your money out of the banks, investment firms, anything financial that is not going to be a threat to you and your family, stop buying certain products that don't sustain your good health. Stop supporting companies who do not employ Americans or create American made Jobs, or pay their Taxes. As a collective, we Americans decided this is what we were going to do, this would have a much greater effect than not going to work. Hit the Wall Street where they hit us! In the Wallet!

You want prosperity and you want to help others. How about an experiment?

Try and compare:

  1. Working at a job and helping people.
  2. Going on strike and not helping people.

You may find that #1 isn't as cool and trendy, but has a surprisingly positive effect both for you and for others.

a strike is material harm? lol its monetary harm dont you mean? its the only thing they understand. there is no harm. there is the businesses loosing money. nothing else. and so they should. they could just hire more people but no thats expensive. so they can lose it this way instead.. how is that harm? its either them.. or the people they dont hire i choose them.

When the both of you come back from civics class, you'll learn that people prosper when they perform services for people. That's what businesses do: serve others. And the most successful businesses serve the most people, with the greatest value.

unfortunately, soc. security, disability, food stamps, unemployment.. there's plenty of handouts so yes, iphones, macs, things will still be bought. to many free handouts for those who don't need them, though some do i agree.

soc security is a plan where when you get old you dont live on the street cause you cant physically work due to old age. it is not a hand out. you pay out of your paycheck every paycheck for this. before soc security, there were old people that could barely get around living in tents and not cause they didnt want to work.. cause who is going to hire you when you cant walk a flight of stairs anymore, cant see without (expensive) glasses and your brain has slowed down? so not a hand out. paid for in advance

The lesson is to vote for what works, not Hope and Change. Fortunately the OWS shows that message is starting to get through.
