This first step has yet to be secured. I hope that the General Assembly of Occupy Wall Street will keep their main focus on the right to protest. The protesters and their signs of crisis must be allowed.
I feel horror every time a see a report about protestors being arrested. We have truly become a police state. The first amendment is backed up by the 14th amendment, which prohibits states from enacting legislation that interferes with constitutional rights, yet "public safety" type laws are being misused to inhibit protests and assembly, as well as expensive permitting and the simple requirement to have to seek permission to assemble. I am sickened at the reality of what this nation has become. No matter what your personal political beliefs are, this is something that affects every citizen, and every person in this country should realize what the implications mean to each of them....
Well said. The "little" laws add up to repression.-- Where are the deregulators for protestors?
Well said Freedom of speech is very important. It's not free anymore the only ones who can afford it are the rich
