I am new to this forum and what brought me here was an allegation I saw posted elsewhere about the things that we are not allowed to discuss on this forum. I couldn't believe it so I came to look and here is what I found:
"No Platform. Conspiracy theories, will be removed immediately and the spammer will receive a swift global network ban. Fascist propaganda, will be treated with the similar actions. In that we are very specific about what fascism is: the word has a meaning."
"Stay On target. Off topic posts, low content posts, worthless posts, bumping, etc, will be moderated and removed. Repeat posting of the same off topic posts and spamming of links that have nothing to do with the subject at hand (case in point the Dylan bullshit) will be banned outright. Similarly posters who constantly post off-topic nonsense are straddling the line very close to a ban."
"We do not support an election campaign for 2012. At all. We have removed election material for Obama, Paul, Warren, Paul, Cain, Paul, Perry, Paul, the green party, Paul, Nader, Paul, and did I mention Paul? The spamming by the Ron Lawl 2012 fan club was getting out of hand. We will continue to remove such material and any call for the Paul 2012 campaign will, at this point, be considered spamming. End of. We're tired of hearing about it. Main street debates are also largely off topic."
Conspiracy theories: Is not the entire banking/corporation take over of our lives a huge conspiracy? Don't the bankers and corporate executives and lobbyists and politicians CONSPIRE together to do all the things they do? In addition, history has proven that many of the conspiracies once only discussed in theory came to be real. Would it not behoove us to discuss today's "conspiracies" in order to unravel which may actually be of concern to us and our children, and the planet?
On Target: What is really off topic? Who decides? The Banking system has it's fingers in just about every aspect of our lives, I cannot imagine much would be off topic.
2012 Election: Obvious spamming for candidates of course should not be allowed. But serious discussion about the current candidates and what they know/plan on doing about the problem (or how much they have been a PART of the problem!) I think is an incredibly important part of this forum and in fact the entire movement.
Just my thoughts... Hope I don't get banned!
I will add, that i do like the intention to keep it relevant, and get trolling and spam out of the place, I can respect that.
Hey man, i must say, i am with you on this one. I don't want to stir anything up here, but i agree in principle with what you are saying. There are several others threads pertaining to the forum itself. I personally would love to see this site have a subforums with different categories to make it more organized and focused, but that is just my opinion.
If they can have 'working groups' etc. at the physical occupies, why not some sort of online organization in the forums, would make for more productive conversation and easier to follow imo.
If OWS is a leaderless movement why does it have rules and people acting like leaders on the forums? Look at your bill of rights and tell me how many of those things you would cry about if Government or police told you that you could not speak about them.
The movement is definitely NOT leaderless.
You got that right brother.

There are numerous posts containing what you have listed. Don't sweat it. There are people on here that do want censorship of people that disagree with the liberal/left/Marxist/socialist/flavor of OWS. But so far most of the mods seem to be resisting that.
