Free trade agreements like NAFTA, CAFTA and the proposed TPP and TTIP have already and will further undermine freedom and democracy in all participating nations. The Investor-State Dispute Settlement (ISDS) court will, by treaty [see US Constitution on Treaties and the law], take precedence over our own courts. Conservative US courts have already upheld this travesty in NAFTA and CAFTA cases. If you haven't begun to awaken yet to the threat to survival posed by corporations and their wholly owned politicians and judges you need to force yourself out of your dream world. Turn off FOX News and PBS. The latter is only slightly less corporate controlled and censored than the former. Wake NOW!

The truth is out there and you can find it if you want to.

"Free trade is a very liberal agenda in fact, it would be conservative to not allow corps to trade across borders and protect the homeland."

While the ideal case has been qualified, that's insufficient. The ideal case isn't!

Foreign trade consists of individuals profiting by trading the goods produced by the community to [profit making] traders in other countries. The profit of traders is not often to the benefit of the community whose real work produced the goods. There's not only no guarantee we'll have enough of our own goods to survive but increasingly the opposite is true as the profit on trade, like any usury, concentrates wealth and impoverishes the people.

In my humble opinion: trader is synonomous with traitor. And the only good traitor is a dead traitor!

Some want to remove all borders, free flow of people all over, others want to build walls, treat every country as an enemy.

Free trade vs immigration is always an interesting comparison to make. Is it possible to let people flow freely between countries but not let the money?

Free flow means free flow - for populations/people to be allowed free movement - means that the money flows with them. That is if the populations/people have any money ( so discount hoards from that scenario - except in how the wealthy flow ) - what money they do have will flow with them.

Capitalists seek to reduce those who sell Labor to the lowest possible level,i.e.,pay that will provide enough money to remain alive, but not enough to provide security, ability to save,or ability to remain debt-free.Technology is helping a great deal by destroying job security and preserving the high productivity of increasingly impoverished, overworked, unhappy, unhealthy workers.Trade unionism must be undermined and destroyed, regulation removed or nullified, and Media controlled.Democracy also must be Subverted. The question that has not been answered yet is-will the workers in the EU,Japan and the US continue in the Race To Rock Bottom,or will they find effective ways to resist?

Free trade is a very liberal agenda in fact, it would be conservative to not allow corps to trade across borders and protect the homeland.

That being said, neither big party has a clue as what those two terms really mean, so I guess we can't expect the media to report it much clearer either, so therefore we really dont understand what they mean either.

We literally dont understand the language we use in politics today. The machine is doing a masterful job on us.
