Hey Occupiers and interested foks,

I am an actor and writer who was deeply inspired by my experience with Occupy Wall Street. That experience has culminated in the writing of a play called 'Mercy Killers.' The play is an exploration of the problems with our for profit health care system and the difficulties facing illness while being uninsured or under insured. I'm doing 5 free performances of the play Mid November in a collaboration with Health Care Now- NY and the Harold Clurman Lab Theater.

As an actor and writer, I have grown increasingly disillusioned with my career, although I've had the 'good fortune' to work steadily on Broadway and in the regional theater. More and more, however, I've seen who sponsors the productions I'm involved in, who are the major donars, who the audience is, and none of that has anything to do with why I became an artist. For example, one of the companies I have aspired to work for since being a student, was Lincoln Center Theater which recently renamed one of their venues 'The David Koch Theater.' Seriously? Nah. It's time for revolution. It's time to make Art for the people. It's time to make art from the soul. It's time to burn my 'lottery ticket', to give up the neurotic need to be validated and recognized by cadres of people for whom I have little respect and with whom I have nothing to talk about.

Here's my first attempt at a new way of making art and meaning. It's for all of you and I hope some of you can come and check it out.

Best, Mike
