I am extending my free offer to anyone interested in reading a well researched book on mass media and the economics of the marketplace of ideas. Just go to https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/111743 and put in coupon code YZ53P. If you like the book please spread the word to your friends. Let's educate everyone about how the system really works! Note: this free offer expires on January 15th.
Don't sweat it. Not too many Americans have long enough attention spans and mental capacities to read a short book. That's a big reason why so many extensive, 200+ page are bills being passed by our legislators, because nobody takes the time to actually read them before voting them into effect. It's called gross negligence and It's a serious problem in our society.
I'm not making this shit up either. Just watch any news station (or any advertisement-laden channel) long enough before you get the urge to throw your remote controller through your television screen, and you'll know what I'm talking about. If you last more than 30 minutes without getting that urge, you are what is known as sheeple, and you probably wouldn't ever comprehend this comment anyways.

if you want to get exposure you should at least have the basic common courtesy to explain what the fuck your "book" is about. "Mass media and the economics of the marketplace of ideas" is just a bunch of meaningless buzz-words strung together. Take the time to write an actual summary and maybe someone will give a shit.
Good point... basically the book looks at the marketplace of ideas the way economists look at real markets. The book summarizes various market structures and explains the concept of free market cooperation and central planning in the US and other industrial economies. Then, the book analyzes the marketplace of ideas pointing out how it is structured, where the cooperation lies, and how that affects the information that gets disseminated. I don't expect anyone to buy it with so little information -- but for free it is worth a try. And, if you find it informative spread the word!
The MSM is dieing. Why would you write a book about it?
true about mass media... but the book is really about the marketplace of ideas as a whole.. mass media is a big part of that. Also, it is not necessarily going to die.. they are spending lots of money to kill alternatives
