Forum Post: Free and Open Source Political Candidates

The root of our problem is the influence of money on our political system. Those who have more money have more access to government. That access nets them more money and they gain even more control.

We could short circuit that process if we all supported candidates who accepted no campaign contributions (freeware candidates) or candidates who openly listed every donation and PAC working on thier behalf (open source).

This goes right to the heart of our problem and all other solutions should follow once we stop electing representatives of the 1%!

Another thing we should get behind is Instant Runoff Voting so our elections can more truly represent the will of the people. This would eliminate the 'Nader Effect' and give 3rd parties a chance.
