Here is a little quote from Thomas Jefferson.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. "
OWS is just living up to one of the ideas that created this country.
a wise person will argue a problem from all angels.
a fool will take the wise person's arguments that best suit his/hers purposes, and smother himself/herself in the wise person's logic.
I don't agree. I'll take an evolutionist any day over a creationist. It doesn't matter how many angels they use, creationists don't see a picture of the real. Scientists researching properly using the scientific method is where it's at. Like my father used to say - "Look at a problem from all angles, not all angels."
well, you have never spoke to a Jehovah's Witness. If they weren't so anti voting and participation in political discourse, i'd be one. But i take a rational
take on Factions.
You make a lot of assumptions. I did indeed talk to a Jehovah's witness before; for much too long I might add. He had witnessed all but nothing. Sorry, but no one has ever convinced me with their talk of angels, and you won't be the first. There's no angel boy that can penetrate my heart.
I believe the bible was a model for man to aspire to, but like all good models they get redacted.
The Bible is a nice work of science fiction designed to control people with the fear of hell. I'll pass. Wait... I already have a long time ago.
Can I ask? Why are you talking about angels on this forum?
a revolution for a man with a musket, a donkey and a printing press, is not the same as a revolution for men and women with computers, networking skills and patience.
It is exactly the same. The only difference between the two is time. So you might have different tools to work with but even the brightest ideas get usurped and undermined on the web. It only takes a few Frank Luntz type people to obfuscate and distract from issues that are quite possibly the most critical humans have ever confronted on such a large scale.
Maybe your patience is working in the favor of those who are devising ways to undo any thought that might actually help.
Musket = Rifle (I don't own one.) -Donkey = Car - Printing Press = Internet. The concept is the same, correctly inform and inspire people, but the tools are different.
I sometimes think people were more intelligent and involved back in those days than they are today. We are pacified by things today.
We lost a very important element; the editor. Nowadays, we are flooded with information. Every idiot can write a blog. Back then, you had to earn your right to be published.
Wasn't it the movie Fondling Fathers Love Fondly that was pulled from circulation years ago after it came about that many of its actors were underaged? I heard the adult actors went on the perform in the much touted hit Pounding Fathers - A Peek from Behind (The Constipation). Personally, I much preferred Foundling Father - The Story of an Orphan Boy Named Jericho which I thought was a sweet Walt Disney movie about an orphan who grows up to be the best father one could imagine.
What was that? Are you stoned or something?
No. I never drink or take drugs. I want to keep my mind sharp.
Then you are a person with no ability to see where we came from or where we might end up.
Maybe if you took a drug you might see things a bit differently.
Perhaps you are correct sir. Perhaps. However, I do not believe drugs are needed to develop a fertile imagination. To each his own. I do not believe one needs to take drugs to see where he came from and/or where he is going.
