While reading this I couldn't help but think about the Kefauver hearings back in 1950-51 when dozens of alleged Mafia members took the fifth rather than testify against their syndicate bosses. All that's missing (so far) is Joe Corzine echoing the words of the "Prime Minister of the Underworld" Frank Costello when asked what, if anything, he has done for his country;
"I paid my tax!"
Actually taking the 5th is given an unnecessarily bad name because of people like this. It is actually a powerful tool for the common man to resist the high handedness of police departments.
Taking the 5th should not be a cause to presume guilt. For any person.
They used a name that would get peoples attention. I think the important info is where that money went and the connection between MF/JP.
How long can this rat hide? All she accomplished by taking the 5th is proving his guilt.
hers...
Oops, my bad. They frequently referred the exec as "O'Brien" and I missed the opening that mentioned "Edith". Proceeding to edit my comment to correct that mistake.
