I think the sooner we all learn that nothing in this world is for free, the better!

I agree. But the private loans are of particular concern. It should be criminal to charge 10% plus libor- on a student loan. And, the fees are way too high and too numerous. Even my priest was shocked when he saw my boyfriends private student loan statement! He said it should be against the law to charge that kind of interest and fees. Education debt is oppressive.

You have been SUCKERED by a liberal system of liberal professors getting paid $180,000 a year. The liberal professors fill you with mush and convince you to pay too much for an education. You are poor and your professor goes home each night to their really nice home that YOU paid for. Dont blame banks, blame the guys you are paying for the useless education. Liberalis sucks and you were sucked in

Also libraries work pretty well

The education system only exists to mass produce workers. You can learn practically everything without a degree. And you can network without living on a college campus. In fact volunteering at the institution you want to work at would be time better spent.

The only tests a person should have to take are the ones that determine their ability to perform the task needed.

So it's possible to get free education right now. Question is, how possible is it to obtain a high level position if you don't have a piece of paper indicating you are pre-qualified?

student loans are not dischargeable in bankruptcy and are 100% backed by the federal government. this is the main reason that college has inflated so much year after year.

If you want free college education then the taxpayers will have to pay the bill. Your student loan is no different than any loan. For a car or house or an iphone. So should a guy with a Porsche loan not have to pay for it? A loan is a loan. Who will pay for all the teachers? The school space?

Select liberal arts major and spend tax payer money and when you do not get job. Blame people who worked hard, live at Occupied Place in cities and get donations. Then buy electronic gadgets of that money. Good Plan.

What do you tell to the millions of people in the past who have had to pay for them? Fuck you people we just want to be treated better. Do you ever listen to how small and petty you are?

Who pays for it if not the student?

As a former university student and teacher, and one whose grown daughter now teaches at the college level herself, I find that the students who are invested financially in their education tend to take their studies much more seriously. It's those students who are getting a free ride from somewhere or someone else who tend to drift along, waste everyone's time and are content to just "pass".

Very good! This reminds me of when we had the military draft in America. All you had were millions of guys who just did not want to be there. I did it. I did the service but I hated it. Now at least the folks in the Army are there because they want to be.

If you want free education, you can do it how real Americans do it.

I do think college education should be free.

Nothing is free. You just think someone else should pay.
