I have two kids or I would be there. The news says you guys don't know what you want. Well I know what I want, a floating minimum wage to be evaluated quarter annually that is pegged to inflation and the cost of living. This is what I want.

"Businesses must not increase the poverty rate of a region through their employment practices"

I've been floating this idea in a few forums for quite awhile now. It's never seemed like it could be implemented before OWS, but now I think it may be ripe.

What this idea means is that if 90% of the people in a region are living above the poverty rate, any business in that region must pay at least 90% of their employees at or above a living wage.

Why tolerate any workers employed below a living wage? Because there are MANY workers who have their basic needs met through other means who choose to work anyway. High School kids living with mom and dad, choosing to work just to fill their gas tank. Moderately wealthy retired people, choosing to work just to have something to do. These people are currently competing for jobs, driving wages down for everyone.

In a region of high poverty, the lower manpower costs would give the region a competitive advantage in attracting business investment, which tends to invite other business, which tends to decrease poverty levels.

I've read about some of the fantastic public actions that farmers and union workers took in the 30' s as they put the heat on fdr for a new deal. Simply, we need a New Deal. I don't want to abolish capitalism, I think people just need to stay strong on this front. Keep this a populist movement.

The New Deal revived the downward pressure of the Great Depression. Destroying capital by moving it around doesn't help the economy. If you want a New New Deal all you're asking for is a Raw Deal.

I understand the problems with fractional lending, but... I wouldn't suggest anything unattainable like more restructuring of the bank system, they're already crying about Dod-Frank. But! we are due for a federal wage assessment anyway and this would force the top tear to absorb the cost rather than redistribute it because it would pace the inflation.

Wake up, people - we are in a global collapse. Individual demands are not going to work to dismantle a system that has already robbed you and your children and transferred the money to offshore accounts via these corrupt banks.

patch work, its not gonna fix anything. the problem is ignorance.. It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning.- Henry Ford Look online for HJR-192 for a good place to start

What about the minimum wage stipulated in the 28th Amendment?

http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/28th.html

"Paragraph 9, Minimum Wage:

Minimum wage shall be set at a rate per 40 hour work week that exceeds the national poverty level for a family of 4 by a factor of 1.5."

bahahahahahahahahah you seriously believe the 'market' set the value of labor?

Busting unions, regulations, and so on are ways of DICTATING the market, not embracing it.
