Long ago we all agreed that fighting fires would be a part of our future. Fires should be prevented as much as possible, but we accept that they will continue to accidently occur and we know preparation allows us to contain a fire's damage. Fire Hydrants were a fantastic idea! Even though they cost money, we agree that every town should have them.

Snow Plows do not exist in Florida where I live. There is no need to salt the roadways or any expenses related to snow. Other states are prudent to prepare for snow events, including spending taxpayer money.

We have Hurricanes in Florida but other states are completely unaffected by Hurricanes. Some states have real concerns for earthquakes, some for floods, wildfires, tornados, etc. We as a nation, react to help others when these disasters occur as we should.

Our political system fails us regarding people that get sick, regardless of whether individuals make healthy choices or not, we know we are to help the sick and the hungry because it's right to do so. Thankfully, Doctors and nurses help people whether they have insurance or the ability to pay, because they come face to face with the sick human that has appeared in the ER.

The current healthcare debate frustrates me because providing healthcare for all is a better idea than even Fire Hydrants, but the political discussion is about the money that is involved.
