So, we've got some police that behave like everyone expects - violent, mean, etc - but we've got more than a few that, by reports, are nice, engaging with us, and peaceful. We should reward those guys. We should celebrate those guys. We should maybe even help those guys with whatever problems they may be having in the rest of their lives, if they want that help (particularly given the exposure that results in).

I'm thinking a picture stream of the cops that are nice, with followups trying to a) find out who they are b) find out if they want us to fan them, or would rather fly under the radar and c) donation buttons.

@Donation: I'm just thinking in terms of other people who find themselves in spotlights - they throw up their problems, and they throw up a donation button. It's a quick, clean, highly understandable and concrete reward method. By getting them to post up their problems in life, we're also humanizing them. By helping them with their lives, we get more humanized in their eyes.

Still, it might not be needed, it might be too much - but (AFAIK) it's never been tried before, so it's at least work thinking about. Might lead to something that works better, but still does more than internet fame.

Good idea.

I'm sick of seeing pictures of the few worst-of-the-worst cops, which inevitably brings out the worst in all-side's reaction to the photos.

But . . ."donation buttons"!? Is that needed?

they have an investment in the outcome of all of this just as we do.
