Fascism A governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
Fascism 2.0 A governmental system led by a shadow board of wealthy corporatists, who have almost complete power through the façade of Democracy and the controlling of the message through ownership of all major media. They subtly suppress opposition and criticism; control all industry, commerce, etc. They emphasize an aggressive nationalism, while demonstrating a lack of patriotism through the systematic transference of jobs into the global domain. They protect their interests through the court systems up to the Supreme Court that bases its decisions on what’s best for the board
Try a thicker gauge aluminum for your tin foil hat.
Supercapitalism was a concept that developed in Italian Fascism. Italy's Fascist leader, Benito Mussolini, claimed that at the stage of supercapitalism, "a capitalist enterprise, when difficulties arise, throws itself like a dead weight into the state's arms. It is then that state intervention begins and becomes more necessary. It is then that those who once ignored the state now seek it out anxiously."
Sound familiar?
It does have a familiar ring. Then what happens, the capitalist go back to business as usual with no penalties or safegaurds. Does that sound familiar? (-:
Mussolini once described fascism the marriage of government and industry. Which is exactly what we now have in America. Corporations, and a few very wealthy families, have bought the government (both parties), which passes laws and regulations for their benefit. OWS seems to be focused on corporations, but the politicians share equal responsibility. Most of what the bankers did to enrich themselves and bring down the economy was illegal prior to the passage of two deregulatory bills in 1999 and 2000. The banks only did what the politicians allowed them to do. The real crux of this mess is political corruption.
Yeah, I think that's the part that makes Fascism 2.0 work so transparent and functional.
I'll grant your description of "Fascism 2.0" but I'm not sure why you think this is a good description of America today.
Sure, corporations have too much influence on politics. But I don't see much evidence of suppression of opposition and criticism. I mean, corporations are largely responsible for the operability of the internet and our access to it, which has allowed for an unprecedented amplification of our ability to voice our criticism (political and otherwise) and to build opposition movements. While major media outlets have been consolidated and are more subject to corporate control than ever, they are also less relevant than ever -- thanks in large part to the internet.
So while I fully support increasing the government's ability to hold corporate power in check (first, by passing strong regulations on lobbying and campaign finance so that corporations have less influence in government, and then by increasing regulation of markets and prosecution of white-collar crime), I disagree that this struggle is taking place in a fascist country.
I wasn't really saying this is the way it is. But there are a lot of parallels.
If you re-read your post you will see that the things you see as proof that it does not exist are in fact signs that things aren’t as they appear on the surface. Then the solutions you suggest are constantly be defined as being bad for America--- Regulation-----Fair taxes ----"not" shipping jobs overseas It just seems like what used to be logical effective solutions have been redefined into problems. And the primary benefactor are the large corporations
Also known as "The Corporatocracy" - isn't it strange that someone like Dick Cheney is one minute CEO of Halliburton (a very large US Construction Corporation worth billions of dollars,) and the next minute he's Vice President of the USA, and less than 5 years later Halliburton are making billions of dollars in profit per year rebuilding the rubble of Iraq, through lucrative government contracts?
Just one example of the Corporatocracy in action.
This sounds like a very paranoid conspiracy theory.
sounds like American democracy to me...
Back up ONE assertion made by the OP with FACT. WHO are these grand conspirators? Names man. I want names, recordings, transcripts, photographs and documented facts. PROVE the allegations.
OH, I know. George Soros. He's rich. Let's attack him!
David Walker, former US Comptroller General and chief of the GAO, warned before the 2004 election that if large economic changes were not made, by 2009 the United States and its taxpayers would not be able to afford the interest payments on the national debt. A study authorized by the US Treasury in 2001 found that in order to keep servicing the debt at its current rate of growth, by 2013 income taxes would need to be raised to 65%.
If the United States cannot afford to pay the interest on its debts, that would be the final stage of economic collapse and hence result in a total textbook bankruptcy. The systematic crisis would in turn spread to the rest of the world.
How did this happen? Why is the US national debt $14,819,350,000+? Of the 203 countries in the world today, only four (!) do not owe others money. The collective external debt of all the governments in the world is now above 40 trillion dollars and this number doesn’t include the massive about of household debt in each country.
The whole world is basically bankrupt. But how? How can the world as a whole owe money to itself? Obviously, it’s all nonsense. There is no such thing as ‘money’. There are only planetary resources, human labor and human ingenuity. The monetary system regulated by Federal Reserve is nothing more than a game… and an outdated and dysfunctional one at that. Those in positions of social power alter the rules of the game, at will. The nature of those rules is guided by the same competitive, distorted mentalities that are used in everyday “monetary” life, only this time the game is rigged at its root to favor those who run the show. For example, if you have 1 million dollars and put it into a CD at 5% interest, you are going to generate $50,000 a year simply for that deposit. You are making money off of money itself… paper being made from other paper … nothing more - no invention - no contribution to society – no nothing.
That being denoted, if you are a lower to middle class person, who is limited in funds, and must get interest based loans to buy your home or use credit cards, then you are paying interest to the bank, which the bank is then using, in theory, to pay the person’s return with the 5% CD! Not only is this equation outrageously offensive due to the use of usury (interest) to ‘steal from the poor and give to the rich’, but it also perpetuates class stratification by its very design, keeping the lower classes poor, under the constant burden of debt, while keeping the upper classes rich, with the means to turn excess money into more money, with no labor.
That reality aside, there are other games in the system which have worked for decades, but are just now starting to bloom into the inevitable mathematic disasters that should have been anticipated 100 years ago. The point is, our system is broken. Simple policy change will not solve our debt problem. We need to alter the governmental paradigm if we wish to repay our debt.
Culprit: the Federal Reserve Board.
So what you are saying is that the Bush administration tried to warn us that we must live within our means, or face a degradation of our credit rating.
Then along comes Pres. Print Money Obama, and he achieves just that. He realizes his goal of destroying our economy, ruining our credit rating and plunging us into the highest unemployment rates in recent history.
I get it. Thanks.
So...you understand that the past 30 years of American history have led up to this economy crisis. I'm sorry, I'm putting a conscious effort to respect other people and their positions but you have been blatantly manipulated by the far right. Please, reconsider your understanding of American history. Do some research outside of the usual gang of white Christians.
You are acting like I said this is going on in our country. That is your assumtion not mine. This is just a "what if scenario"
Why does this make you paranoid. We all know it could never happern here That's like those that say sending jobs to China has anything to do with the lack of jobs here There are some wackos out there1
I have a sale presentation that list the pro and cons of 2.0. I think you might see some truth in it.
That sounds like what we've got right now! Benito Mousolini said it best, "Fascism is the corporatization of the government."
I didn't know that, it is working very well today. ! posted an expansion of my first post. Check it out if you get a chance
Fascism 2.0/Corporatism is a much improved and user friendly version than the original
Fascism 2.0 - Convincing the tax payer to smile while they rape em in the ass.
why can't there just be mistakes made along the way of becoming better human being with a pinch of a$$ hole here and there in the mix. why is it always this over the top bs.
