We must end the worst weapon of all the English, the English language is used as a global language, but language is not only command will the United States, we must make people use Esperanto as a second language, for we Esperanto as language the United States, a second language, and put it under the Empire of English.
Is it easier to learn for all languages or just the western languages?
I have to support the use of Esperanto as a second language. Because when I communicate in Esperanto than in English, I feel that I would be free. We could be willing to minorities, then we are 99%.
English is a wonderful and efficient language for english spoken people. That means 375 millions of 7 billions. For us it is so complicated that it remains poor to dialog with you. That is true that Esperanto is an excellent tool that could be an efficient bridge as a standard second language. But till now it is too unknown !!
In reply to the comment about Esperanto, I think that most people have never heard of this language and many peoply think of it as just a hobby.
Now that the British Government employs Esperanto translators, British Telecom uses the language for advertising and China Television broadcast in the language it has ceased to be a hobby.
You might also like to see this positive support from the Council of Europe. http://www.goethe.de/ins/se/prj/ets/mlg/gep/enindex.htm You can hear Esperanto spoken here as well :)
Their new online course http://www.lernu.net has 125 000 hits per day and Esperanto Wikipedia enjoys 400 000 hits per day. That can't be bad :)

Add the metric system to that as well.
We don't even measure things the same way.
I've tried Esperanto. It's to strong for my taste I prefer plain old coffee.
:P
A smaller worker organization, politically-oriented division of Esperanto is known as SAT, or Sennacieca Asocio Tut-monda. (Non-national Association of All the World. They have a multilingual website ( http://www.satesperanto.org/-English-.html )
I have spoken Esperanto for 40 years, and represent its main community Universal Esperanto Association, for 3 year at the United Nations-- full-time. I have come twice to participate in Occupy Wall St. events (at the encampment (when unions were initially invited and marched) and at 42nd St and Broadway. Many Esperanto speakers avoid politics since we have been wiped out by Hitler and Stalin for our worldly beliefs in equality of nations and individuals. A big segment of the Japanese movement was likewise wiped-out by the government of Japan during WWII. However there are numerous political parties ex. Irish Green Party and the Radical Party of Italy, that have strong support for Esperanto (i.a publishing literature and instructional material). An Esperanto-centered political party E-D-E (Esperanto-Democracy-Europe) is growing in France and Germany. Esperanto is alive and well for those that want to make friends in nearly every country of the world---without even traveling: some 10,000 of US are at Facebook (or at www.Ipernity.com --a smaller social networking service where Chinese and Iranian Esperantists feel less opressed by their governments). I have met 20,000 Esperanto speakers in my travels to 34 countries. Young people can easily spend a year abroad for free with Pasporta Servo www.pasportaservo.org . I blog on the subject in English at www.EsperantoFriends.blogspot.com . .... www.esperanto-un.org is in Esperanto.
Riiight...If we don't speak english, the rest of the world can't understand us. Great plan!!
