Forum Post: End run around wall street banks

Why not demand local governments help people help their citizens refinance loans. Local governments can sell bonds, use the bond proceeds to refinance, then pay off the bonds with the mortgage payments. They can even offer tax free interest on the bonds. And prevent their cities from sinking into blight. Nothing will happen for years if we wait for the existing financial system and the federal government to do something. Make the banking system irrelevant.
