Let’s be real, America is being robbed by Cronyism. It just happens to be bankers today it was the oil companies yesterday and Enron the day before. There is only one solution, Term Limits for Congress. Two term limits for both houses. The 1% got their wealth from back room deals. The 99% need to wake up and tell congress to enact term limits. Take focus on the real problem and shut down the cronyism.

Ugh, no. Corruption is much higher in non-professional legislatures (which term limits would produce). The parties would become much more powerful, which considering the current level of corporate influence, would make it far easier to break down regulatory barriers.

Put simply, do this if you want things to become far, far worse. The better solution is to limit the money in politics as completely as possible.

Eaxctly, that is why it would take a focused movement like this to change it. There would have to be some sort of grandfather clause to get the vote through.

I support term limits.

The major problem is the people that will be "term limited" are the same people that will have to vote on the issue in super-majortity numbers in order to amend the constitution.

The states would probably go for it. The members of Congress, not so much. They don't want to give up their power and prestige.

I don't know, the well seasoned professional congress we have now or a non professional representative congress. The party issue is real and I agree we need to address this too with campaign finance reform. Congress is supposed to represent the people. This can be best done by insuring campain donation only come from their constituents. Someone from Texas should not be allowed to contribute money to a senate race in NY. This is another unpopular vote but it would end corruption. Politicians would only get mone from the ones they represent. It would turn the party system upside down. Is that a bad thing?
