Must have considerable expertise in the financial industry. You can't take down capitalism if you don't understand it to the fullest. Effective leaders must articulate why the idea of a Central Bank is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme; continuously evolving economic complexity until the entire fucking world is broken. These leaders must communicate why we are entering the second part of the Great Depression, and why the financial system will not survive. No matter what. No matter what the Fed does, ECB, IMF, no one is going to fix the global financial meltdown. Once Greece falls, so too will the rest; like dominoes.

I disagree- the elements that make up position papers must be versed in the areas they offer solutions for- not the person that presents them.
The leaders need to be marketable if the message is going to spread. Because of the society in which we operate, appearance still has influence.
the smart game is no leaders. but effective organization will produce the communication results and outcomes you are talking about. we need a wiki and 1001 sub forums to do that. one week later i am still waiting on the promise of sub forums. Experience is not as important as knowledge, tho experience is a form of knowledge, whats really needed is to get the mob into the textbooks and to the research- in short the idea of "leaders" is an escapist attempt to run away from taking personal responsibility. we need to ALL become "leaders" or its not going to fly. To make that happen meaningfully requires informational tools with pathetically don't exist yet, this will probably thus mean the movement will fail due to lack of organization.
i agree. spreading relevant information needs to be at the heart of occupy wall street
You have a point. But capitolism is not going to survive much longer. Alot of economist do know about the destruction that capitlism has caused in the past 50 yrs,and they are part of the occupation. This country was suppose to be found on democracy and We The People must put democracy back in place.A government for the people and by the people is what this country was found on.
If there are so many economists involved in the movement, why are they not directing public relations? The uninformed public is not going to listen to angry citizens in times of chaos. Everyone is sitting at home waiting for someone smart to tell them what's wrong and how we're going to fix it.
Keith Oberman on Current TV had 2 leaders on yesterday. Check it out.
The point is that these leaders should be defining our goals and strategies. For example, some people in the movement call for an end to capitalism, while others suggest strict reforms. From an economist's perspective, there is no solution within the capitalist system. Therefore, we must have one clear direction...replace capitalism or "fix" it. I'm suggesting we openly debate how to replace capitalism with a more sustainable economy. Don't beat around the bush, tell the world we believe in __, and this is why....
The scary thing is nobody knows for sure. But you are right, trying to talk it out rationally is our best shot.
People with viable solutions go to the loony pin or get their brain softened up generally...
Did you read my post....They did.
I read your post...tried to find the videos idk if i found the one's you're talking about. But I'm not suggesting that these people simply speak to the media, I'm saying that this movement need's some sort of real leadership based on economic expertise.
It is evolving. These matters take time.(just like capitolism and the serfdom position the 99% are in took 50 yrs) There is a general assembly on Sunday. Be patient. Meanwhile if you got ideas...bring 'em.
