I am sick of idiots posting hateful comments.

The rules say

2) "Upvote" constructive comments and

3) "Downvote" negative comments.

Probably a dumb question, but I googled these terms and couldnt figure how do you exactly do that? (ug, this will probably get some hateful replies) However, if I didnt get it, I'm sure others dont get it. Especially since this movement is really getting common, everyday people to finally get engaged...like me! :)

Rule #4 is good and simple: "Don't respond to threads that suck." I guess just ignore the crap. Wish I read that one sooner...I've wasted a lot of time trying to reform, educate or win-over some of the haters. Lets just focus on positive, forward dialogue/ideas/action and hope for the best with the ones who will be moved by seeing progress.

Occupy Wall Street. The movement of the trophy kids who were always told "you're just as good as everyone, at everything." You now realize you are only good at being lazy and blaming others for your own problems. OWS is just a gathering of like-minded former trophy kids who majored in gender studies and since the economy is bad you cannot find a job that wants to hire a race relations major; it can't be your fault, you got a trophy. So let's blame someone, how about rich people. Who cares if they worked their way through school like you did and earned an honest living, they are rich now and poor people exist in America so they have no right to be rich while others are poor. There are many reasons why OWS became irrelevant so quickly, but attacking certain aspects of capitalism (hedge funds, foreclosures) and ignoring others (professional sports, entertainment industry) revealed a blatant hypocrisy in the movement's message. The message says: "it is not okay to grow up poor and then earn millions by investing your own money or competing in the corporate business environment but it is okay to grow up poor and become a rapper,so long as you show up at OWS we will overlook the $5000 in clothes and jewlery their wearing.

The major reason I have such a discontent with the status quo is that I have been told my whole life that I live in a society where I live and die by the decisions I make, and then I see the finance sector make bad decisions and gets a free pass. This tells me we live in a society where we are all free but some are freer than others, to paraphrase "Animal Farm"

There are little arrows next to the comments. Up arrow is upvote and awards points to the comment.

Down arrow does the opposite.

You're so right. I've been doing the same thing, waste of time. And I don't know how to upvote or downvote either, so thanks for bringing it up!

I think it's time to create a detailed user guide for this forum. It should include the use of all functions on the site like up voting, down voting, how karma points are calculated, how one can create searches, etc...

I'll create a MarkDown page and send it to jart later tonight. I need to relax and this is the perfect job for that. Strangely, I like to write software instruction manuals.
