Bank of America plans to charge you for access to your own money with a $5 a month fee on debit card transactions. If you make one transaction with your debit card, no matter how small, they charge you $5 for the month just to access your money. I don't have an account with Bank of America but I've had a credit card with them for nearly a decade with a good line of credit as well. But as far as I'm concerned this is criminal. So I canceled my credit card with them in protest. If you have a credit card with them. Do the same thing if you can. Hurt them because they will hurt you. They don't care about anyone but themselves and if they can get away with it, every other bank will.

And our leadership has nothing to do with this, huh?

Its not the credit card, its the debit card and only if you are not a Platinum member. Still its a really rotten thing to do to thank your customers. And I dropped my entire account with them and told them in their face what i thought of their new policy as I was saying goodbye. Get thyself to a credit union as I did.

I know it's the debit card and I know it is only if your not a Platinum member but I am a Platinum member. I don't have a bank account with these assholes but if they are going to screw with OTHER customers I am going to screw with them. Understand? It isn't ethical to charge people for access to their own money.

Just remember, plastic is the service provided by the bank for your convenience.

It's a complete slap in the face for keeping them in business.
