The Corporate giant stopped production of Dr Pepper at its oldest bottler (since 1891) through crushing lawsuits and now an entire town wonders how it will survive. The small town of Dublin, Texas, celebrated Dr Pepper and the tourists it brought in, together with the bottling plant jobs, sustained the economy in the town of 3,700. But Texas-based Dr Pepper saw its oldest bottler as a threat, even though sales of Dublin Dr Pepper totaled less than one tenth of one percent of total Dr Pepper sales. Out of greed, it killed its oldest bottler. Please do not support this corporate Goliath. Boycott Dr. Pepper/Snapple/Cadbury products. Thank you.
I read an article about that. The corporation alleged the bottler went outside the geographic area that had been agreed to. The plant has other products though, so it doesn't look like it will close, but 14 jobs were lost.
Megacorporations seek unrestrainable power, and so far they have been getting it. Sad.
