This content is user submitted and not an official statement

The organization's chief strategist is a Fox News analyst... That alone should tell you all you need to know.

But there's more: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/02/americans-elect-third-party-presidential-candidate_n_1072307.html

They are trying to trick us. This is just a VERY smart attempt (I'll give them that) to co-opt unknowing voters who want legitimate change.

I would be much more supportive of it if they were attempting to field congressional candidates rather than president. There are two dominate parties. The role of a third party in a presidential election is as a spoiler, it will always be. However, third party candidates win time and again in small districts. If Americans Elect was genuinely trying to make a difference in the makeup of government they would be focusing were they have a real chance to be successful.

Here's some information on Dr., Peter Ackerman

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_Ackerman

He's a co-author of the book " A Force More Powerful: A Century of Nonviolent Conflict "

Apparently does a lot of work in trying to get power back to the people across the globe.

Just from my 30minutes of research, I don't think they are trying to trick you.

I Googled them. They have a similar idea to Occupy, non-partisan:
