Forum Post: Don't Pay Your Credit Card Bills!

The Black Friday Revolution begins on November 25. Stop paying your credit card bills. Simply by withholding your money, we can destroy companies like Citigroup. We have the power. It's time to use it! End credit and the concept of loaning money at interest. It is a Weapon of Class Destruction!

Funny... I haven't heard a single responsible person advocate for your ill-begotten idea. Us responsible people understand that we need to pay our bills, or our lives will be ruined. The banks and credit card companies provide a SERVICE by loaning at interest. No one forced you to take out those loans.

If you think it will even make a dent by withholding your money, then you truly are daft. Financial institutions have cash reserves, insurance, and high-powered attorneys to make certain that they remain solvent. I pity your ineptitude.

Let's use the internet for this purpose:

Everyone renounce their debt - and discontinue payment on one day.

Then post the names of people who DO pay their debts. Not for any purpose of violence, but so that other people in the community can gently encourage them not to feed this tyranny.

The courts would be clogged-up, if 2% of people strategically defaulted.

Great stop paying you credit card bills and then ruin your credit. Now and days potential employers check you credit, to see if you are in fact a responsible person. Don't pay you bills and you won't get that job because big corporation use credit checks to in fact "exclude" people in the huge pool of unemployed workers. (This is my first post in the forum :---) )

Yea, I think I'll pay my bills. Thanks...

Nothing like biting off your nose to spite your face. You are riduculous.

I live credit-card free because I don't buy what I can't afford. When you charge anything to a credit card you are putting money into the pockets of the banks so the solution is NOT charging on your cards. Destroying your credit rating is not going to solve anything.

how about you pay off your debit (cause you bought those things with the cc, anyway) and then get rid of the credit card?

im not saying im for insane interests rates, etc

i would love to not pay my cc debit (5k) but i have every intention of paying it back.

[-] 1 points by GoAway (8) 13 years ago

Sure. Just hope you don't have to buy a house/car/anything that requires credit in the future.

I agree. Don't pay one dime to any of these companies.

Also get into some self defense classes ! some Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to learn hand to hand ground fighting and if anyone gets their hands on you , subdue them easliy ...we all know the banks now run the government, and therefore more laws are going to change to accomodate the banks

Brilliant! It's nice to see true genius in action.

Did you hear about the case where a guy broke into a house, hurt himself with a knife on a table and then sued the house owner for leaving a knife on the table?

Credit Card bills? that's small potatoes. Don't pay your mortgage. If we all stop paying in the summer of 2012, the 1% will listen.

[-] 1 points by AmericanBolshevik (19) 13 years ago

I agree wholeheartly! Both are part of the Black Friday Revolution.

The banks don't expect most of the people involved in this protest to pay their bills anyway! They'll barely notice!

[-] 1 points by AmericanBolshevik (19) 13 years ago

That's why we need to spread the word. Make the rest of America see how this would benefit them. It's not like I'm expecting people to take any action whatsoever. I'm asking people to NOT do something. You would think that this is the ultimate American act of protest! It's completely passive!

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

A lot of the rest of us are in the 53% who do care about their credit ratings. You're not going to get those people to do what you're asking.

[-] 1 points by AmericanBolshevik (19) 13 years ago

Your credit rating won't matter if no one is issuing loans.

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

So the way to avoid a financial crisis is for all of us to stop making payments on our debts?

[-] 1 points by AmericanBolshevik (19) 13 years ago

No, the way to crash an unjust system is to stop paying our debts. Then it is up to us to build a better, more humane system from the ruins of the old.

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

So your GOAL is to hurt everybody, rich and poor, by intentionally causing another financial crash?!? And you want people to support you? And you actually think that the 53% would support you?

[-] 1 points by AmericanBolshevik (19) 13 years ago

I'm not about sending a message. I'm about blowing up an unjust system. You cannot repair a system that is fundamentally flawed. Remember, just because we've always done something doesn't make the best way or the only way. We need to radically adjust our expectations. Wake up from the American Dream. The Horatio Alger myth is just that: A myth. We need to face the American Reality.

[-] 1 points by CassieK (8) from Detroit, MI 13 years ago

How about we try not spending Our money on Corporate products for Black Friday. that maybe a better way to send this message.

The debt system will bog down if everybody does it - too many to run through the court system.

[-] 1 points by DCResident (70) 13 years ago

Or rather, pay off your debt and then don't take on any more debt.

[-] 1 points by ArrestAllCEOS (115) 13 years ago

This will be nice. Then when the whole system collapses there will be no more food on grocery shelves, riots everywhere. I hope you have a lot of food and guns stored.
